This may sound stupid, but have you considered taping bags of frozen vegetables to your chest? Our ice-packs?
Plastic bottle of refrigerated water did the trick, frozen stuff just left condensation on my chest. Which is bad!

I haven't heard that one before, and I'm Southern. Question is, does it actually work?

Based on the one time I've seen it used (a man was physically ill after smoking a cigarette), no. In fact he blew chunks after drinking it.

Well, an empty stomach is a calm stomach, so I'd say mission accomplished.

Just like most food "innovations" originating in the South, then?

I've seen some of the stuff "we" eat. Deep fried oreos over caramel popcorn is not for me. Although I think the South's greatest crime against food is the way they abuse vegetables.

What is wrong with battered and fried zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes?

but you can't because you got the bandanna instead of the camo.

I was pretty much expecting that.
Boiled coca-cola is basically just hot flat coca-cola. Copious sugar ingestion generally isn't a good idea on an upset stomach :P

I haven't actually tried using coke yet, though. Couple types of mountain dew, couple types of root beer (Mugs and Barqs, iirc. Don't think I've tried A&W yet)., one or two types of orange soda. I think I did ginger ale once, though I forget how it turned out. Probably a couple others I'm forgetting.

Generally just makes for really sweet tea that's kinda' sharp, if that makes sense, but a different kind of sweet from what's called sweet tea around here. It's an interesting flavor, really.

The deep frying I can almost understand, even if I don't eat it myself. Boiling them into tasteless mush, on the other hand... Vegetables should crunch, and it doesn't really matter if that is because they're fresh or because they're breaded. (Fried banana peppers and fried green tomato are both amazing)

You're supposed to wrap them in a towel or something similar.

And now I have gin and tonic in my nose. Thanks for that, this is now the least dignified drink I've ever had since that time I got drunk and decided I never wanted to do that again. That was a really inopportune time to laugh.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
