People were listening to terrible music and watching some garfield cartoon on the computers in the library today. Without headphones. And the ass watching the cartoon was talking to it.
Oh gog library horror stories.  I've only been doing this for three months and I have quite a few.

Although most involve people letting their cellphone ring for over ten minutes and really loud bad rap.  If I was more assertive I would be like "Cut that shit out!" but I just wait for the library staff to realize that no, the person isn't ever going to answer their phone, it will just ring...forever
I have seen people touching themselves in the library before.

Heh, funny you all mention libraries. I'm raging right now at the girl who's been laughing hysterically, crying, and gasping for breath for the past ten minutes at a youtube video. When it's an involuntary response to something you're listening to with headphones the staff doesn't really step in, especially when there are "quiet" floors upstairs. At least it's not as creepy as the guy who flopped down on the seat beside me and fell asleep with his head on my arm rest.

Man I remember a time before internet in the library. It must be a mecca of fuckwads addicted to Youtube now. I can't imagine how any school has an open browsing policy in their library.

And then there's the idiots on cell phones in the library.  I mean, cell phones in general are annoying, but in a library I'm trying to get some thinking done for a change.

There's a library right near where I work that I like to slip into during my lunch break, from time to time.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

My university's library apparently has a problem with that, as there's big signs taped to every computer "no pornography!"

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I hate it when people call a magazine a clip. They are two distinct items.

A clip is a strip of metal that facilitates the loading of an internal magazine, or assists loading a detachable one.

A magazine is what holds the bullets in the gun, and is usually detachable.

Clips don't even go in magazines (Usually. The M1 Garand's En-bloc clip does, but still.) you just strip the bullets off the clip into the magazine.

Bullet/shell/cartridge/slug/round. Its not as bad as the clip/magazine problem but it still irks me.

Because people in the military love having so many words for things it sounds like they're talking in a different language to most people.
