That doesn't make any sense. Ending the task only lasts until the computer is restarted. Did you delete the program or something?
Nope, I ended it and my computer just shut down. Then windows 7 is unable to launch, system restore doesn't fix it, and startup repair doesn't fix it.

My stupidity knows no bounds.

I didn't know this could even happen. But some brief reading says that yes, even terminating the process can lead to serious fuck ups. Epic case of BEEEEEEEPPPP.

Funny though, you'd think they added explicit warnings not to fuck with that process in any way.

Nope, again Windows 7 can't even boot. Gonna have to run around and look for a windows 7 disc (Something like this happened before, although it wasn't related to winlogon. It eventually sorted itself out, but im not sure about this time.)

WE MUST REBEL AGAINST THE BEEPING OVERLORDS, FOR THEY RUIN MY COMPUTER.

Apparently winlogon even has ties to the BIOS. That's kind of one of those processes you go "Why is this visible again?"

Its more of a "Why is that even related to the BIOS in the first place?"
"Logging into Windows" and "Run the POST, then boot OS" don't seem to need to be interconnected.

You are gonna need the disc and will have to pull a manual repair (Anyone remember the old DOS days, basically be doing that by transferring the file from disc to HD and it should work)

Google search is not working at all. search, left click anything, no responce. middle click (open in new tab) works fine. Other search engines work perfectly fine.

I think it needs to get security up as soon as possible to prevent people from circumventing it via the BIOS.

...and you circumvent logging on using bios how, exactly? It has zero logging in to windows fuction, and its own password if you set it.

If you have access to the disk, you could hex-edit winlogon to accept any password?

I went to school dressed in a fucking awesome costume I took awhile to make (Post-Apocalyptic army guy.) and then I realize no one is dressed up. I mean come on, one of the best parts of halloween is dressing up :/
