It comes on at start up? Try CC Cleaner, it has a very easy to use start up list, where you can select programs to start up (or not start up) when your computer turns on.

Try going to add remove programs, add remove windows components, and see if you can do it from there.

You do not convince me. You rationalize your actions and because the result is favorable you become right.

It's the same startup list as msconfig, which it does not appear in.

Tried that already. It's not there.

have you tried the little gear icon?

the one where you click it and a little options dialog pops up and there's some blue text at the bottom that says "Control whether Magnifier starts when I log on"?
There is no gear icon anywhere. What version of Windows are you talking about?

Just overheard a co-worker discussing history with a cubemate, and heard him mention that WWII started because of the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand..of Canterbury.

I can't figure out it that's trolling or just epic history fail.

It's on the login screen for Windows, at the bottom left corner.

My man computer has never had anything other than XP. Does that mean I win?

I failed to mention that my main computer has 2 OSes, one windows 7, the other XP.

You still win though, as the XP is pretty much neglected.

Also, Skyrim's custom spellmaking was cut? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo...

DUDE. How in the name of Banana Sticker do you run 2 OSes?
Really simply. (if they're both windows, anyway) Make Partition #1, but don't make it the size of the entire hard drive. Then make a second partition using the rest of the space. Install one OS on #1 and the second OS on #2.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I found what you were talking about, only it's not a "gear", it's the icon for Ease of Access, at least on Vista. Funny thing, it's not turned on from there, yet it still runs at startup.

I'm going to ask one more time, file shredder? Even if I manage to keep it from turning on at start up, it's caused me so much aggravation I want it deleted anyway.

Well to be fair, oblivion's custom spell thing was a little broken.  I don't recall the exact formula, but I think it was really easy to do something like combine 5 weakness to element spells and then (element spell) to create some really crazy overpowered stuff.

Shame they went with just removing it instead of fixing it though.  Hope they at least replace it with a really wide range of spells so that it wouldn't be missed.

But it was fun RPing as a great unknown mage, or someone with ancient knowledge of techniques. ):

Each sequel is getting simpler and simpler...

One of the few reasons I played oblivion is the unlimited container size. Many stats and magic were dumbed down though, to accomodate for console versions. >.>
