Well I didn't actually cuss, but yeah I guess I did overreact at the time. I've sort of patched things up, but it still just makes me uncomfortable to think that my stuff isn't private.

Having my writings or journals viewed by anyone would annoy me.

Do you have your own computer? You could always encrypt a virtual partition, and store your personal files in there. I use TrueCrypt. It lets me make a file that is then treated like a virtual hard drive, and all the contents are encrypted. It kind of rocks.

If you don't have your own computer, you can still run it off a usb drive, with your encrypted drive file residing on the stick as well.

No dumass. Newer generation of gamers don't care about an old IP like X-Com and the original fans don't want a fucking shooter. This thing is going to crash and burn because of lack of market research.

Yeah it does some, but it is still a badly covered up cash-grab in a genre that is becoming akin to a gold rush.

Not for XCOM it doesn't. That isn't the XCOM I love. There's no grid, no end turn button, no geoscape. None of the things I loved about it are there. It's a horrid attempt to cash in a title that needs some love.

Then look at it on its own merits.  You guys hold stuff to impossible standards and then get mad when they don't live up to them.

Why should we? It's using an incredibly famous game's name for cash mining, why shouldn't we expect something equally as good? Look at Enforcer. The game had nothing at all to do with XCOM, and it was shit. Interceptor was pretty bad too, but at least it tried to be true to XCOM while providing something new. I've no doubt the new one will be shittier than enforcer.
