The scent of weed. I hate it. The bus home was reeking of it for some reason, and I suspect my parents are growing a bunch in the backyard. They grew it last year, and stored the harvest in the bathroom closet, making the air almost unbreathable(err, more so than usual).

Oh hey, the obnoxious War on Drugs finally comes in handy when you are in a position to get rid of those people. Depending on where you live, I suppose.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I tell her to fuck off.
And here we have found the likely cause of your problems. If such words are used on your parents I can easily imagine a situation where there is enough cause for concern to violate privacy in favor of knowing what is going on. There is a level of tact needed when dealing with parents that mess up, which if misused leaves you as the one looking childish and untrustworthy, not even an adult who has a right to privacy.

Not that I'm saying you are immature enough in this situation to warrant that, but it's something to keep in mind. You need to be extremely careful about your responses when others mess up. It's very easy to flip who is in the wrong.

Well I didn't actually cuss, but yeah I guess I did overreact at the time. I've sort of patched things up, but it still just makes me uncomfortable to think that my stuff isn't private.

Vector is right.

What you should do is leave and give the police an anonymous tip about them.

Ah, yes--so he gets to have the (I believe) worse charge of selling, and they end up with possession/growing for personal usage.  Very clever.

Sorry, my state is a bit lax on the pot laws, though growing is actually worse than intent on selling/selling for some reason here.

Based on what Akura has said about his parents, I think they just might be stupid enough to call the police and go "He dun stole all our weed!"

Which would be pretty funny, because they'd go to jail.

Yeah, but you're still giving yourself a completely unnecessary criminal record for something someone else did.

Wait. For maximum entertainment value, try to set it up so that you've got it confiscated or otherwise in police hands before they make an arrest. If everything goes ideally, they'll call and claim you took it, further incriminating themselves. I'm not sure if the police would allow that, or if the parents really are that dumb (they might, however, try to claim that they found out you were growing it and they're trying to turn YOU in, but I strongly suspect your word vs theirs will be better since you went in first and have all this other crap, and I'd wager it's a crime to accuse someone falsely under circumstances like this).

I also think this, because, and let me make this perfectly clear: Multiple people, on multiple occasions, have gone to the police reporting the theft of their weed.

I could understand if this sort of thing happened, say, once, but we're talking dozens of incidents. Yay Natural Selection?

A lot of prisons allow conjugal visits, and if death row inmates are getting in relationships, the man who just wanted his weed back is a keeper.
