That's exactly why I was laughing.

If by paragraph 4, line 2, you haven't raged yet, you're part of the problem.

Raged on second sentence (first sentence raised serious alarm bells, but it could've been talking about firefighters or something).  From then on it was one of those things I have to read about ten words at a time, changing tabs frequently to avoid rage buildup.

It's interesting, because normally stuff about "nice guys" or "friendzones" are creepy and annoying due to the sense of entitlement the authors seem to feel, but this one goes waaaaaaaaay beyond that.  Perhaps it was the complete lack of self awareness, the lack of even an attempt to see it from anyone else's point of view, the way he seems to think that female friends are only good for sex, that women should choose their boyfriends on some bizarre scale of "niceness" rather than on, say, who they want to be their boyfriend.

Or maybe it's individual quotes like "This is for the guys who escort their drunk, bewildered female friends back from parties and never take advantage once they’re at her door" ("This is for the guys who go round their friends' houses and don't bludgeon them to death when their backs are turned) or "the rest of the creepy male population".

honestly I think that final bit is meant to be caustic. it's too patronising/pitiable for me to not question his sincerity.

I read it, and went "meh". Dunno why, but that article just didn't seem all that horrible. I've seen worse "amg women are assholes to nice guys" rants before. Although the "nice guys don't get laid" bit almost made me laugh.

Same thing for me, I just read it and didn't feel anything.
But if you say I am a part of the problem.. Then WE are going to have a problem..
