I always had self esteem issues and didn't connect with people when I was younger. Now I am, apparently, friends with too many people and possess too much self confidence. A few friends who I'm drifting away from told me that they stopped inviting me to stuff because they figured I would be busy hanging out with 'cooler' people. Someone else told me that I should be more timid because they felt bad by comparison. I'd care less if my upbringing didn't brainwash me into seeking approval from everyone rather than just caring about the approvals that matter.
