Nope, only me. I hate other people using my headphones. MINE DAMN IT. I'm rather possessive of my electronics and related stuff.
Ok unless you're blasting the hell outta those speakers, they should last at least 4 months without noticing any difference

That's the thing, I'm not. I usually listen at somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 of the max volume on my iPod.

Ipod, theres a bastard right there. Using the same headphones and same volumes, ipods chew out more headphones than any other mp3s in the market.

I don't understand it either, if you're playing at the same decibel then there shouldn't be any difference but there is.

I have enough foreign friends to make pronunciation issues irrelevant. It's not like proper English ever really mattered.

I can deal with foreign accents. I don't consider middle-aged black women in Washington, DC to be "foreign".

No, it seems to be a pretty common occurrence for that demographic, in a wide swath from Texas to Florida and north to at least the D.C. area.

AND IT MAKES ME RAEG SO HARDD. I don't know why, it just does.

Why does somebody's dialect bother you so much?

Because it's not a dialect! It's one particular malformed phoneme that for whatever reason entered a very specific subset of the population. Who seem to be disproportionately employed by the Federal government, which is why I encounter it so damn much.

For God's sake, I'm Southern -- I know what a "Southern drawl" sounds like. I know all kinds of regional and subregional dialects in the South. Hell, I can adopt five or six of them at will. I'm used to hearing people mangle grammar, slur their speech and as the joke goes, "Only in the South is "God" a three-syllable word". But even the most backwoods hick says "arrrr", not "arr-ruh"!

And it's only that letter. I suppose I could cringe and bear it if they sounded like an overblown Pentecostal preacher tacking a schwa onto the ends of words everytime he gasps for breath, but it's not. It just sounds WRONG. Kinda like the British use of "zed" for "zee", but that one I can accept. It's kind of cute. "Arr-uh" just sounds like a bad stereotype talking.
