I remember having a three hour 8 AM physics class last semester. That was no fun at all.
Oh well, it's better than what I have coming block. One of the courses I'm planning to follow is given at the same hours as a mandatory course. I just hope one of those two is easy to learn from the books...

My rage is becoming recursive.  I'm too angry at my job to focus on doing it.  Inevitably, this will lead to a talk with my team lead or manager about my horrible performance lastnight and today.  Thinking about this makes me angrier, which reduces my motivation further.

Fuck you, American Football. A game tomorrow means I can't park my car near my apartment tonight means I can't donate plasma tonight means I can't go grocery shopping tonight, and because the bus system I need in order to get to my car goes to shit on Saturdays (especially game days), it's going to be very annoying, indeed, to donate plasma tomorrow. This is going to complicate my plans to eat this week immensely, since I currently have -460ish dollars in the bank and can therefore pretty much not spend anything out of it.

Paycheck I need yoooooouuuuuuuuuuuu. Why you only given monthly?

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Yes. $20 the first time in a week, $30 or $40 the second (which I wouldn't have been able to make this week anyway). That there is grocery money, and if I make two donations in a week far more than I need of it, too.

Possibly it would be more technically correct to call it selling plasma, but I don't much care.

You're selling your LIFE, man. You got to let the energies flow through, maaaaan.

Everybody's selling their life.  Time is our most finite resource, and the core transaction of regular employment is our time for their money.

I'm letting the energies flow through ME and into that bag attached to my arm, allowing money to flow into my bank account. Very ethical, I assure you.

Certainly not simultaneously. In fact, they won't let you donate plasma for 6 or 8 weeks after your last blood donation - this was enough to get me to stop going to blood drives, because I needed the money and I was still contributing to saving lives anyway. I don't know where you live, but look up Biolife. You do need to be 18, weigh over 110 pounds, and meet a bunch of health requirements, though, so bear that in mind. Hopefully, you've never lived in Europe >____>

Obviously, only applies if you're in the US. I have no idea how it might work elsewhere.

If you're a homosexual, be prepared to have thoroughly defend your lifestyle in order to donate. I'm not gay but I had a long discussion with the doctor that handled me the last time I gave blood (who was gay.) He said that, in spite of everything, homosexuals tend to disproportionaley get turned away because of fears about their sexual activities (which the clinic isn't going to take the time to screen for.)

Why would they get turned away? STI's doesn't work as a reason because your going to have to screen for that anyway.

Don't ask me. I'm in the heartland and there are still a few unjustified prejudices out here. Everyone who donates has a pre-screening questionnaire they have to answer and this is where it came up. Stuff like "have you had sex with more than 3 different partners in the last 3 weeks" "Are you a homosexual?"

The whole "gays can't donate blood" thing has been around since the 1980s IIRC.
