I see.  Even more amusing: the US is one of two countries in the globe that didn't assign an agreement to work to improve the lot of women.  There's a lot of similar accords that we didn't sign, but that one sticks in my mind.

Guess I know what our priorities are!  Human rights < money money money

This link makes it a little more relevant to my interests.  Since when is the government allowed to enter into secret treaties, or "sign" international agreements without Congressional approval?  Not that the agreement would necessarily have any effect on American law, since it appears to be largely based on American law in the first place.  But there's some serious WTF alarms going off for me about the signing itself.

First, I'm sick of getting ambushed by Jehova's Witnesses at the bus stop. What's worse, you just can't tell them to bugger off, you just can't.

You can't?

Well, I believe the only way to get them to stop following you around is to make a reverse cross and start speaking in tongues.

Here's to hoping that the HQs of all the great media empires get flattened by meteors. And to hoping that the heads of the RIAA and MPAA die slow and horrible deaths from some kind of wasting disease; but regardless of how it happens, when the heads of these organizations do die I think I may actually take a plane to where they are buried and personally dance on their graves.

I'll agree to hoping for the meteor-flattening only if we hope it takes place during an executive picnic on the roof while all the people who actually get things done are conveniently home sick.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Or the people who do get things done are testing out the teleworking system that day.

Oh great, Bethesda/Zenimax are still suing Mojang even after Mojang tried to comply with the "Cease and Desist" order.

Seriously?

We should boycott Bethesda. I mean, I don't have any money for games anyway, but those of you who do should also not buy their products. May their company wither and die.

Wha-?

This makes no sense at all. The only logical thing that Bethesda/Zenimax could get out of this is that they are trying to scare Mojang into never suing them about Scrolls or something.

I frankly don't think its Bethesda who's doing the suing, but Zenimax.
