I'm overqualified in the tech field, but underqualified in the management field. Besides, I like not working 70+ hours a week.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

Doesn't get me the hours of work back. I wasn't using LibreOffice because it's been giving me shit with importing tables from older documents.

It's true, I should've saved, but I got too comfortable I guess with a feature that had in the past made it unnecessary to do so to avoid random data loss.

recovery features are not replacement save features, they're a backup.
But you seem to know that already.

Yeah, like I said, I got soft. 8 years on a crash-free XP install haven't done anything to improve my habits either, but I've already complained of that (and apparently my install of Windows 7 is weird in that regard).

Fucking life. Fuck antidepressants, I may not be sad but I get really fucking angry over the little-est of things. Luckily I'm making progress on toning down the dosage.
