If skyrim is to oblivion what oblivion was to morrowind I will cry and never stop.

One of the few reasons I played oblivion is the unlimited container size. Many stats and magic were dumbed down though, to accomodate for console versions. >.>
By the seventh game there'll be 2 skills.
Bashing and stabbing, and both will level simultaneously so no players feel left out.

Fuck.

Was in a meeting with my boss and one of our outside support vendors.  Got called out of the meeting by my boss's boss.  Had a quick chat with him.  Was asked to de-activate my boss's access to the network.

They fired him moments later.

Nice guy.  Thoroughly enjoyed working with him.  He didn't play politics too well though, and I'm sure he just wound up stepping on the wrong person's toes.  I hate to see him go.  Really liked working with him.

Of course...  Now our little three-person IT department (two technical, one clinical) is down to just two people (one technical, one clinical).

I've raged on here several times before about how busy we are.  About how much extra time I wind up working.  About how hard it is to relax these days.

We're in the middle of about a half-dozen major projects at the moment...  Plus the day-to-day break/fix stuff...

I mean, there isn't really any good time to lose someone like that - but this sure as hell isn't a good time for it.

I don't know who they think is going to run the department.  I sure as hell can't.  Nor can my co-worker.  I can't imagine they're going to pull in anybody who can actually get up to speed and be useful in a reasonable amount of time.

Fuck.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.

This is what I worry about. Increasingly I get people (casual console gamers) saying "aw man, there's a new Oblivion coming out". Makes me rage every time. I know it should be a good thing that gaming is becoming more widely accepted, but do they really have to cut out what made it fun in the first place?

Popular != Interesting all of the time, just look at music. Sometimes it seems like we'd be better off back in the non-mainstream.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I'm going to ask one more time, file shredder? Even if I manage to keep it from turning on at start up, it's caused me so much aggravation I want it deleted anyway.

I dunno about file shredders, but if you really really want it gone, and can find no other way, it should be no problem from a linux live cd. Not much windows can do when its not even running. Unless it just reinstalls it next time you start...

Bah, the file shredder is saying it's still in use. I'll have to think something else.

I managed to finally turn it off. Had to go into the EoA options, turn it back on, restart, go back into EoA, turn it off again, restart again.

In the future, if you need to delete something "in use", try Unlocker. I've had good experiences with it in the past. Just be careful with what you delete, really.

Woe be unto one who is asked, "I'm not being unreasonable, am I?"

Yeah, no, I'm not going to lie and say you're being reasonable when you're throwing a fit because someone called and said they couldn't finish a character sheet you asked for in 5 hours, so they wouldn't be able to be ready in time for a D&D game. And I'm not willing to to put up with being yelled at and accused of not really wanting to play, when I'm not the one who keeps going on and on about this shit.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Just feeling pissy in general. My stepdad is all mopey because his favorite dog seems to be dying. Not sure from what, though my mom suggested it might have been a jellyfish sting or something similar, since she said he's recovering somewhat. Either way, the stepdad is so fixated on putting the dog down, without even going bothering to have the dog checked out(his excuse: most likely money ::)). Earlier today, he tells me this, and without showing any of wanting to have further discussion about it, he walks off, and somehow assumes I've "snubbed" him.

Then there's problems at work. I'm really sick of being treated like crap. They keep saying I'm "the hardest worker" there, most of the time that's true because they have me doing something while everyone is just hangs out, and then giving me shit once it gets to be too much. They better hope I don't suddenly decide to walk out, which I'm very close to doing.
