Still snowing. Way too cold.

On upside: I may be able to make a snowman.

If you're on windows and thinking of doing C++ stuff, you're basically forced to use the M$'s bloatware piece of shit IDE, because nothing else has instructions or works. That is my fucking rage.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Doesn't work. You'd think an IDE would be able to open a makefile, but nope.

The president of South Africa is blaming electricity shortages on apartheid. In spite of the fact that a) the previous president issued a public apology for them and admitted that they were the government's fault and b) it's been twenty flippin' years since the end of apartheid.

Isn't he an ass anyway?
By the way, how's Zille doing politically?

Arguably he's already a progressive, just one in the style of an enlightened Kaiser.
I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

Yeah, I'm just irritated about it at the moment.

Zille's doing okay, I guess. Realistically, the Democratic Alliance is never going to oust the African National Congress, since a lot of people see them as the "white party". The Western Cape is the best governed province in the country though, so there is a chance of some kind of change.

She's probably still my favourite politician, and I think that's true for a lot of people, but I think a lot boils down to the fact that she's a white female politician in a country that's still dominated by a very non-Western culture.

Further edit: Chris Gayle is bending our cricket team over and beating them with his bat. This is unrelated.

I should be in bed. Yesterday I walked 5 hours to cash my paycheck, because it's too cold my bicycle chain is too rusted to ride. The flu I've had for a week is far worse, and now I have a total of at least three blisters on my feet. The muscles in my thigh and buttocks are so stiff I can barely move them. All to give all but $40(may or may not cover bus far for two weeks) to my mom for December's rent. I told her how I didn't have money for food/laundry, and she hands me $80(of $300) back, saying that she and my  stepdad didn't want me to be broke, Since I don't trust her motivations, I don't know if she was telling me if I shouldn't worry about paying the full rent(still have to worry about January), or if I'm still a month behind.

I remember trying to learn C++. I understand the basics easy enough. Pointers still get me, though I understand the concept of them. However, beyond that, I still never figured out "WTF do I do now"?

AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRG!!

You know, that feeling when in EU4 in the earlyish game when playing as Austria (1466, playing slightly modified extended timeline) and you get pulled into a bunch of wars almost at once just because HRE emperor and none of them are going that well?

Though the tide is starting to turn in two of them.
