I clocked-in yesterday morning at 7:15 AM.
I clocked-out last night at 12:22 AM.
17 hours on the clock... Not counting the ~45 minute commute each way.
It was after 1:00 AM by the time I got home last night... And I had to be back at work for 7:15 this morning. Luckily I was needed at one of our remote sites, which means I didn't have to drive 45 minutes first thing in the morning...
So, yesterday sucked.
We had planned on upgrading our 3560 at about 10:00 PM... But our inpatient unit was exceptionally busy, and they didn't think they'd be done passing medication until after 10:00. So we pushed it back to 10:30.
Then the ED started getting busy. There were some gaps where we could have done the reboot, but the folks working in the ED were taking an extraordinary amount of time to register patients. I think I could have done it faster with a stone tablet.
It looked like we were good to go for 11:30... But some idiot was driving around on an ATV in the middle of the night, intoxicated, and got into an accident. Head trauma. So they had to treat him and get a CT done and send the images off... Which meant we had to wait for another hour at the very least, and quite possibly longer.
That's when we gave up.
So I was at work 17 hours yesterday... Didn't go home until after midnight... And we didn't even get the upgrade done.
I am not happy with that outcome. It means we're going to have to do this again if we want to get that 3560 upgraded. And we need to get it upgraded, so I don't really have much of a choice.
