Mastah, you're still working on getting separated both legally and in terms of housing, right? Because that was a good direction to be heading in. At a certain point, you need to stop expecting her and her family to change. It'd be nice if they did, but they've made every indication that they're going to keep being the same shitheads as always.

Her grandmother would frequently poison her husband by putting bleach into his food.
She also gave him a concussion when she hallucinated that he was Satan, and hit him over the head with her cane, before setting the house on fire.
Apparantly she had a heriditary condition that causes... Basically utter insanity as you get older, not sure of the name of it.
The reason he never left her is because he would be chastised for it, since he's a preacher that doesn't believe in divorce.
Today, my grandmother-in-law is dead from cancer (she smoked since she was 10, so it's no suprise) and my grandfather-in-law has advanced Parkinson's, and is pretty much incoherent most of the time.

So yeah, something that like possibility has crossed my mind once or twice.

My mom got pissed when I suggested that I inherited my mental illness from her dad's side of the family, calling him crazy in the process. There's some very funky stories about him, mind you.

Mastah, I concur with all of the above. The only purpose of staying with her would be lowering her chance of producing viable offspring.

I could have stayed home but nooo my mother sends me to school saying I can just get early dismissal because cold. Nope, they toss me some cold medicine and tell me to suck it up. Now I have to sleep on my uncomfortable cold hard desk (cold medicine induces sleep) rather than in my warm soft bed.


Once in school, can't get out of school.

I know how you feel, my parents pretty much never take a day off school.

...Except when we had school on Easter, and they knew perfectly well we weren't going to do anything but pass out free candy to all the students.

I never did understand this attitude. If my intention in going is to immediately leave then why go in the first place? I mean, being there already gives the school a pretty good argument as to why I am in a good enough state to be there.

In 'Murrica, having early dismissal looks better on your record than an absence, because they're dicks about it.
I'm assuming it's a similar situation in Korea.
