Why don't we all smoke something other than tobacco?

Like, you know, something less addictive?
I'd rather not

What do you have against smoked fish?
HAVE BEEF WITH SALMON?

Nenjin~ Listen to your wallet~ It's telling you to quit~

You mean listen to people trying to tell me what to do with my body, under the totally hypocritical justification that my habit should be singled out among fast cars, guns, booze and wellness-obliterating work-life balance?

Fuck 'em.
Err, comparing a personal negative to other negatives don't cancel out each other. Life isn't math in that context :-\

Smoke tea.

Or, inhale tea. Same difference!

This is the worst dogpile I've seen in quite some time. Not that I condone smoking, but demonization is completely unnecessary and inappropriate.
nenjin, have you ever tried snuff? My favorite way of consuming nicotine - I don't want to start smoking, and you can even do snuff indoors!
Plus it's so non-widespread that not even the hipsters have picked up on it.

Presumably cheaper, too? Less taxes around it, I'd assume.

This is the worst dogpile I've seen in quite some time.

i've grown up with my lungs fucked in three different ways due to secondhand smoke but holy shit this is worse than that one time somebody was a conservative in 2011

e: actually, it's more or less the same, we'd need someone to refer to nenjin like "oh, it's that guy, you know the smoker" and shout at him there too and we're set

It's not quite the same, ya know? Something about the act of inhalation.

Also, I've got a few nasal issues and I'm pretty sure snuff would exacerbate them pretty badly.

I don't think there's less tax on it, but you need way less material. Take two tiny heaps and you've got a nice dose of nicotine right there. The trick is getting the stuff into your system in a non-combusted state.
Plus I rarely use it anyway - a five gram package would last me several years.

Ninjaedit: Yeah, it kinda fucks up your nose. It's an aquired taste for that horrible stinging deep in your sinuses and the disgusting caustic drip down the back of your throat, I guess.

To be fair, I think that if people could get away with fast cars and guns and booze the same way you can with smoking, they probably would.

There's always snus packets and chew. *shrug* I dunno, nicotine was never my drug of choice, and I gave all mine up anyway.

Yeah....I experimented with cocaine back in the day and got my fill of that sensation. Potentially the reason my nose is fucked up already.

And while this is a coincidence, I've been keeping myself sane in the hotel room by watching Boardwalk Empire. Maybe that's informing my RAGE on this topic.

Apparently "counciling" is subjective and open to free interpretation.

Which means you can disregard whatever the fuck you want if you feel like it, while still trying to use other parts against people.

That...isn't what is objective (as in, actually universally true) :-\

Counciling isn't subjective and 'open to free interpretation' where you can pick arguments out of a box and ignore your own faults.

I really shouldn't be fighting the urge to quit my job 5 seconds after walking in the door, but today...

First thing my boss tells me is a claim that she did my job(which takes 1-1.5 hours) in 30 minutes, then demands I do it in five, along with claiming bullshit that I spend most of that time standing around doing nothing. Beyond that I was worked to the bone because I'm hardly allowed any time to even breathe. What's more is that it's solely directed at me. I have no doubts that this, along with my reduction in hours, is harassmet for making legal threats. Threats I would have already carried out if it was so FUCKING hard to find an attorney. I already know for a fact that the reason she told me for cutting my hours was a flat-out lie, so why not?

I also suspect her of trying to withhold pay because she willingly did not replace the time-sheets we sign, and only did so when I pointed out they weren't there. It wouldn't work if she tried that with me, since I also use the electronic sign-in system that's part of our Point-of-Sale system.

Tell that to his wife and her family. Might want to make sure the councilor knows it too.
