No worries - I don't know the maps well enough to spawncamp in the first place, so if I ever play with you it should be fine. That, and I understand why it's a dick move. Strategy's got nothing to do with it, guys - shutting people out of the game has no justification when you're playing for fun.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Waking up at about 2:00AM, trying to back to sleep, instead I get sleep paralysis and the feeling of waves of cold wind across my back. I normally get sleep paralysis trying to stay awake, not go back to sleep, and the wind couldn't be my fan because the fan was not oscillating. I can only assume an attack by a divine presence.

If it were like, you shooting people before they even have a chance to work out where they are, CoD-style then that would be bad.  But TF2 already has a mechanic to prevent that - you spawn inside a safe area that the other team can't get into or fire at (generally speaking, I guess if some idiot on your team is holding the door open there are some maps where actual spawn-kills might be possible).  You can take as much time as you need inside to prepare a counter-measure to the spawncamping, or even just get an uber (going medic and encouraging others to do the same is the best solution to any stalemate, by the way).

I don't see it as underhanded at all - it's just like setting up to defend any other point, except that in this case they get the advantage because a) it's very close to their spawn, b) they're very close to their supply locker, c) they generally have at least 3 attack routes, d) they're impossible to pursue and e) they have perfect shields that they can open and close at will.  I mean, one of their soldiers can walk up to the door, fire off a couple of rockets and then close the door before enemy explosives can even reach them.

In general I'd say spawncamping is something that gives you a couple of cheap kills rather than an efficient lockdown technique.

Since I am unable to teleport, which would be a prerequisite for attending my English classes this semester, I decided to take a CAE exam instead. The next round of testing in the city where I live was already full, and the one afterwards was in, like, the next century, but I found out there was one available in a city 80 kilometers away.

The date was said to be October 25th - cool, it's Saturday, I'm fine with this.

Now I get a mail from them and it suddenly turns out that yes, Reading, Writing, Use of English and Listening parts are on 25th, but it also turns out the Speaking exam is on 26th. In a completely different building. And I have to get there by 9 AM. The exam will last fifteen minutes.

Gee, thanks a lot, guys.

I wanna know what the hell moron designed this awful kitchen

I wanna know what the hell their moral opposition to useable counter space was
Are you in the UK? If so, it was probably just a barely sentient AI doing the best it could with limited processing power. It was only made to sell these kitchens, not make them.

I need to TF2 with you, MZ.  I joined you once, but I was only able to stick around for a few minutes... and I'm not sure you noticed me.

Just dawned on me that I've been overdrafting on my account for like....5 days. Fucking damn it. With travel and everything else I didn't do my usual due diligence in watching my balance. There's a heap of money down the tubes, and lord knows what else.

Stepdad had the Christian station on. Normally he does this on Sundays, usually tuning the volume up a well. But it's Monday. And they had on a guy who was saying that evolution was completely wrong. I didn't listen too closely, lest I be infected by the stupidity, but it sounded like he was saying it was because it was too complicated to understand, and therefore wrong.

So there was a banner contest for Halloween for the Awesomenauts wiki recently, and one of my friends won the second place prize (It wasn't of THE best quality but I did like it, and it had a decent idea behind it).
It wouldn't be so bad if another contestant didn't get all mad over people claiming that it was "well done" or "nice" compared to his work.

...Apparently people are no longer allowed to have an opinion on the Internet else they are (to quote him) "a bad liar or just "unique"".
Because apparently some people forget that art is not all about the form...Just like video game graphics are not all about the texture resolution or tiny details.

Argh.

I have so little in my Steam wallet. And yet here comes Payday 1, 90% off, I decide to grab it, hit purchase only to notice one last second Steam has, just in this case, decided to not give me the regular "Choose your payment option" window, but take Steam wallet as a default option, offering just "change this payment" right next to it in the same "purchase" window.

Fuck you Steam.

Why wouldn't you want to use your Steam Wallet money first?

Yeah, I know it was free, I missed it.

Why would I want to use wallet money first? It's basically free money, I'll hoard as much of it as I can. Well, that was the plan anyways.

But you still have that money on [whatever you were planning to actually pay with].

I can understand being pissed at Steam interface acting weirdly though.
