Had to cancel my wisdom tooth surgery. Even with insurance, it would still cost $400, which is something I can't afford. The dentist, of course, neglected to tell me this until four days before I was set to have the teeth out.

I was so close to finally getting rid of the pain, and then this shit. Looks like I'm stuck with it a while longer. Stupid pain.

That sucks. If I had $400 to spare, I'd use it to travel to where you are with a pair of industrial-grade pliers and a gallon of morphine.

I remember, whence I broke my arm, I was on morphine, and...Nitrous Oxide, or something.
Shit was weird.

Yah, probably nitrous. Good ol' laughing gas. Had an experience with that fairly recently... probably going to have more, monday. Not exactly looking forward to it, bleh. It was... unpleasant. Much numbing, very sleepy. Didn't like what it did to my lucidity at all. Doctor critter said I was the calmest person they'd ever seen under the stuff, though, barring the people that actually fall asleep :-\

Marginally better than the alternative of full coherence when someone is taking a bit of metal to your gum line, but only just.

I just remembered something that made me mad today.

Last night, when I got home from visiting in-laws, there was another cat on my porch.

It's small enough that it clearly isn't over a year old, and it was... Quite obviously abused in some form. To the point where one of its eyes was no longer properly in the socket; it was just hanging there, being held by the eyelid.
The cat had been dropped off in a box with a scarf in it.

I don't know who dropped it there, or why, or how it had been injured so horribly, but this morning I took the cat to the veterinarian to get it help. (It's part of the Good Samaritan Act, you can drop off badly injured animals to get help, and they don't try to charge you for anything)
The cat was still fairly active, and I think it's got a fair chance for survival, but they said that most likely they'll have to amputate the eye.

I hope it makes it through, and I wish I could find whoever did that to it.

The fact that I faint at the sight of blood makes driving difficult when you have something like that in the passenger seat.
._.

I think I'll call the vet at some point today to ask how it's faring...
