Graaaargh. The latest version of WINE conflicts with something already part of Ubuntu 14.04. Apparently the 1.7 beta of WINE doesn't, but still. I am NOT fucking around with the terminal. >_<

Speaking of interweb issues, my search engine randomly switched from Bing to Yahoo without asking me and I'm confused as to how to undo this. I mean I tend to use the html bar as a search function, so when it changes search engines suddenly I have no idea wtf is going on.

Also Yahoo is just plain shit at everything.

If step three fails, then you DLed something that forces the change. It might have changed if you DLed a program and didn't uncheck some option that changes your homepage to Yahoo!
That's probably what happened, though I'm usually very thorough about unchecking those fuckers. Thanks for the help though, will go see how it works.

EDIT: Does not change the html bar back. How do I make that change back? That is the most important thing.

Someone mentioned Youtube hate? I found their latest feature: unskippable ads.

Latest? It's been around on Youtube at least as long as skippable ads. What's new about them?

There are the 5-second skippable ads, and then there are the other ads. They only last 20 seconds max, but you can't skip them. I get those about 20% of the time. Do you guys not get those too?

Once, I found the Antichrist of YouTube ads.
5 Minute unskippable ads or about 6 different smaller but still unskippable ads dotted throughout the video.
BAM, Royal Flush right here.

In the Philippines? Nope. All I've seen is the 5 second skippable ads. No ads at all in the video, just at the start.

I only get 5-second skip ads, or ~10-second ads that can't be skipped. I haven't seen the mid-video ads in years and years.

What's worst IMO is the "Sponsored video" thing in the sidebar. They load half a second after the video ends, moving the entire "related video" bar down so that you click on the wrong thing. I don't know if they still do that, because I rarely use desktop Youtube anymore and when I do it has adblock.

If you're using Chrome or something related, you'll need to go to Settings, find the Search entry (should be the 4th one), and change the one there. Should be a dropdown menu, and a button to the right of it that will let you add ones. Note that I haven't checked actual Chrome for this, as I'm using Comodo Dragon (which is based on Chromium), so some of the names might be different.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Hexcells Plus
Puzzles that are unsolvable without guesswork.

Fuck this bullshit.
Wow, is that a Minesweeper variant that has only 36 puzzles, but costs 3 bucks? And they're apparently not even well-designed? Why don't you just play actual Minesweeper instead? Here's a neat free implementation (by the author of PuTTY, no less) that generates challenging puzzles that are still always solvable without any guesswork. There's lots of other neat types of puzzles on that site too.
Well I got it on sale and it is actually a lot more complex than minesweeper. Most of the levels are laid out in a way that is solvable, but one or two I just can't see how I could work out anything. Then again all times prior to this one I came back later and found the solution pretty quickly so...
