katanas are for the most part designed for cutting up peasants, so arguably it's the most feasible weapon when dealing with the lot of you

so far only mz shows any kind of relevance to the discussion what with actually wielded a sword-shaped device

And that's why in my game katanas deal somewhat below average damage for a long sword unless you're hitting an unarmored opponent.

Yup. The Japanese got shafted with iron quality, so they mixed iron that was too hard with iron that was too soft, and got some halfway decent iron to work with.

What they said for the materials part.

As for the katana design itself, as others have said its very good for slicing flesh, but against anything of decent hardness it is going to be outperformed by pretty much anything other then a scimitar.

Basically what I know about swords pretty much amounts to curved blades= fantastic against flesh, crap against armor, straight blades= decent against armor, decent against flesh, Flamberge style= I came a little.

Yeah, don't know why I like "flaming" swords so much, I guess just because they look so damn pretty and (I think) are still pretty damn good for swording.

Anyway, now that we've discussed the worst swords, what would you people who know such things say would be the best?

I converted a bunch of anime episodes to .mp4 format so I could put them on an SD card and watch them on my tablet but I forgot to convert the subtitles so now I have to do it all over again ;_;
