Yeah, it's one of those things where you really miss a lot of stuff that you could afford to miss if you don't have the socio-cultural context. By which I mean it matters only as an intellectual exercise because taking evangelicals seriously is a quick path to insanity.

That's because science is a (group of) professions and disciplines, not a belief system. The fundamental misunderstanding remains the same.
