As someone who's also bothered by noise: get headphones.  Not those wimpy noise canceling headphones, those big thick ones that people wear when they're operating heavy machinery or going to a shooting range.  The ones that physically block noise.

We actually have some of those. Trouble is they're kind of difficult to sleep in.

The one time I tried that I happily slept through my alarm while it ran loudly for a half hour, probably annoying the shit out of everyone else in the dorm.  Haven't risked it again.

Use your phone as an alarm, wear earbuds under your earmuffs?

Also, this is basically why slavery happened. A group of people got together and decided that another group of people was somehow born inferior to them, just because of how they looked/sounded/where they were born.
Plus, they obviously have no idea what they're talking about because they excused Alaska, widely regarded as America's armpit. How am I supposed to take you seriously when you deride an entire country for producing such people as Rush Limbaugh and George W. Bush, yet excuse the part of the country that produced Sarah Palin?

I thought slavery was less about the "We're better than you!" And more about the "We see you as big, walking bags of money, and so will delude ourselves and others into thinking we're better than you." As in, racism wasn't the reason, money was.

I believe at that point they're referred to as ear defenders.

Ads are popping up out of nowhere, even tough I have adblock Plus installed and it worked for MONTHS. Are they circumventing the Addon now? Was there an update that broke the thing? Im majorly pissed that this stupid, distracting, worthless advertising bullshit is popping up on screen again, especially on YT-Videos.

IIRC this was a problem where companies were paying Adblock Plus to let their ads through. You could fix it by going out and downloading plain old Adblock and using that instead of Adblock Plus.
