That's not really an error in the program though. It's just a potential mistake that the person using the program might make. It doesn't break anything.

Seems perfectly fair enough to me. Helps keep things accurate.

It seems pretty simple to me, the left side shoots down to negative infinity, and the right shoots up to positive infinity.

I had a bit of trouble figuring the math to do the limits since its been a while, but even without the math its pretty clear that e^(1/(x^2)) goes to positive infinity far far faster then X goes to 0, so X*e^(1/(x^2)) has lim (x->0-)=-infinity, and lim(x->0+)=inifinity

You'd think so, but calculating the limit gives you a problematic answer (0*inifinity), which you fiddle away using L'Hospital after some fiddling to get the X in the proper place. At which points the X's cancel each other out and you're left with only the e^1/x2 which will always return infinity.
But I guess several of us could've done the same stupid mistake, wouldn't be the first time :S

The derivative of e^1/x2 is 2e^1/x2/-x³. The derivative of 1/x is 1/-x²
2e^1/x2/-x³*-x²=2*e^1/x2/x

Looking at the limits (infinity/+-infinity) of that function at +-0 you arrive at the positive and negative values of infinity.

So yeah, you took the derivative of e^1/x2 wrong.

EDIT: That all said, if I hadn't had access to the internet at the time of writing this it would probably have confused the hell out of me too.

Actually, it was certainly more than that, but I can only say this because I'm certain a coupla thousand bucks isn't going to finance this entire thing. He still gets paid an outrageous amount of money, it's just less outrageous than what you'd expect in a private industry sorta thing.
