My current computer is so terrifically bothersome. It has a tendency to just press buttons of it's own accord: It will click wherever the mouse is, or it will hit insert for no reason. The worst part is it's tendency to highlight what I'm writing: The moment I press another key, I instantly lose anywhere from a sentence, to a paragraph, to the entirety of what I've written. Contending for top annoyance is the backspace key-mouse combo, where I click outside of where I'm writing at the same time as I hit backspace, bringing to a different page and erasing all my work.

Undo doesn't help with the latter unfortunately, which I think should get the top title for annoying now.

But even when it isn't deleting everything, it's the, little things. They grate on you.

Geometry and Vectors test:

Lost 6 points for a technicality.

Problem said "B is the xy plane intersect, C is the yz plane intersect, D is the zx plane intersect. Find the coordinates of B, C, and D."
My answer said "~~ xy intersect is (1, 3, 0). yz intersect is (0, 3, 4). zx intersect is (2, 0, -1)". The work I showed counted for no points at all. The fact that I didn't label the points as B, C, D docked me 6 points. Those six points would have brought my grade up a ton. :/

I hate math.

Fuck sake I've been friendzoned.

Just to drag out your torment here by also commenting on it; but that's honestly one of the best possible outcomes.
If you ask - Not beat around the bush, mumble, murmur, blush, make footsies and use words such as 'like-like', and you lay it out cleanly and in a respectful manner, there's three possible outcomes. The first is that you both fall in sweet Hollywood romance love. The other is that she friendzones you and you continue as friends.
The third is obviously that she has no idea how to deal with you being attracted to her and avoids you like the plague, ruining the friendship.

Hence why the 'Just straight up ask' stuff. If you didn't ask and continued being all 'crushy'... then she'd obviously pick up on it and avoid you anyway.

My advice for all relationships is take a look at it and go 'Is this going to be highschool drama?'
And if so, avoid it. Especially if you're in highschool - that'll just earn you ten times more respect.

tl;dr Being straight-up and getting friendzoned is far better than trying to keep it a secret, failing, and losing your friendship.

... Crap what was I here for again?

Oh, right. I want to buy Enemy Within, but the Steam Chrissy sales are coming up, and whilst I can justify it on Every Other Level- I DON'T WANNA BUY IT AND HAVE IT GO ON SALE STRAIGHT AFTER.

And so I sit and stare at my screen with the slight facial tics of someone having a gigantic inner war.

No Sky, don't hate on math D:
It's your teachers' fault. Math would be totally fine with your answer.

Aaand I'm ranting about math teachers again. I have the feeling I'm doing this entirely too often.

Class I wanted to take has been full since the day I was allowed to register. Doesn't matter, because a more careful reading of the schedule indicates that it conflicts with work - I'd been banking on recitation sections without realizing that's what they were. Fuck.
Ah ha ha, and so are all the other classes recommended as backups by an advisor.

If any mysterious accidents befall CS majors here over break, I can't be held responsible. No* jury would convict me.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I... seriously, can that not be, like, challenged or something? Especially if the work did not specifically state to label your answers B, C, and D. If response format is not specifically stated, it is not the fault of the student if they don't respond in the preferred method :-\

Can't challenge. For one, I don't have the test with me to argue semantics. Second, the rubric states, for some reason, that "if B, C, D are omitted, worth 0 points." Kinda like zero-tolerence.

Stupid math bleh bluh meh blargh.

I've been doing this as well.
I also added Unreal Tournament 3 on my wishlist, as well, because I miss it so much.

The Just Cause collection went on a 50% sale, so I figured why not, but for crying out loud, it's been trying to download this freaking game for 3 days now. Like seriously? What the heck is so darn difficult to download that I still can't even try this quite possibly lousy game?

Oh please. I've gotten 33% on quizzes where I got every answer right. You don't even know pain. And my Physics teacher can't be appealed against to the higher-ups, and he justifies all the bullshit he throws at us (and his subsequent lack of helping at all, even with clarifying questions: "I am not English Teacher." he will say if you ask.) with "This is official New York State Regents questions. If you can't do them now, how will you do on the test?". He is stubborn to the point of madness, and his entire class (which would otherwise be quite easy) is based entirely on fake difficulty.

Today he told us we would be doing debates on Friday, and that everyone has to choose a position (though he forced latter people to take the other side if their choice was too popular) from six possible positions, two for each issue. The three issues you ask? 1) Is Pluto a Planet (Yes or No) 2) Heliocentric Model or Geocentric Model 3) Vacuum (Does it exist or not?). You might have guessed there is some, one-sidedness, to the issues, but it's ok because he told us we can "Use passion!" instead of facts and logic. I have Geocentric of course.

I always answered, "This is fucking stupid, there is no argument against fact that is valid, and I'm not going to argue to increase the stupidity in the world." I never had a problem with debates, as far as losing points goes, but then, I am very good at coming off as a cold hearted, business only jerk.

Go full-up relativist, saying that how we model the world doesn't affect it and that thusly we might as well set the (0,0,0) coordinate on earth; go on to argue that setting it to a point as arbitrary as the sun makes about as much sense as putting it three centimeters to the left of Jupiter's core.
If anybody asks which side's left, raise your arm.
