President Park is pushing for privatization of Korea's excellent government-ran railroads.

People severely underestimate the amount of cost that goes into that kind of infrastructure when we're over 25 times the size of most comparable countries.
Wouldn't it be nice, though, to upgrade the infrastructure of our country instead of wasting the money on the war machine for a while? I know, I know, I'm a dirty hippie, but if we scaled back the military to defense and let the UN/NATO take the role of world police, and legalized/taxed soft drugs, I think it would be doable. Think of the business applications!
Do note however that the US is the majority of UN and NATO forces. Then again, you should be able to drop the budget a good 25% without extremely severe consequences.

Because that totally worked out great for every other country that did it.

Worked great for whoever it is bribing the government to push the change through, I imagine.

I was told that we'd be having a Christmas party at work, and that it'd start around noon. So, I skip my lunch break(at 11). Not only did the party not happen, but the afternoon supervisor completely flipped out when she heard I skipped my lunch break. She tells me to immediately take a break. Since my break is half an hour long, and it was less than that until I went home anyway, I just left... except that before I did that, I had to spend most of my "break" setting up a tray of those caramel-pecan bars I made so I could take the container home, and then I left only a minute or two before I normally did anyway, spending the rest of my "break" freezing my ass off.

I'm also pissed that I missed my lunch, which I could of spent with a girl, which I really wanted to do.

So the one here so far that can compare to mine is in Finland.

Yeah, everyone complaining about how the infrastructure in America sucks in terms of internet capability, I'm with you, even though I'm in a region with probably the best such infrastructure in America. Mine came about as a nice side-effect of getting a smart electrical grid, too.

Sick and stuck at home, but chat program is suffering server-side errors I'm powerless to fix, so I cannot talk to anyone, despite having things that I want to talk to them in particular about.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I can count dairy off as one more thing I can't consume. It's like someone cauterized the top of my food pyramid. Damn you, food allergies and recently-realized lactose intolerance. I hate feeling enfeebled by my food- there is no pride in recognizing that your body just will not accept certain delicious things and that you have to rather sharply adjust your diet accordingly. I hate being my own limiting factor, and I hate that there's absolutely nothing I can do about it.

One more thing to come to terms with, I guess.
Yup, it's fun isn't it.

I can eat most meats, certain varieites of pea and bean, potatoes, eggs and various foodstuffs that are so heavily processed they're basically flavoured cardboard, and that's about it.
Corn, Carrots, Tomatoes, Spaghetti dishes, cabbage, lettuce, all of these things will make me violently ill if I eat them.

Not bad, especially considering I'm in a rural area. (It is rural Massachussetts, though, so...)
