The cold makes my joints hurt like heck.
My knuckles have been aching like crazy, and my spine feels like it'll snap any second.
And I'm not even old! It feels like I have arthritis, or something.
Huh. I thought I felt like that because of the amount of punishment I've taken over the course of my life.
It probably is.
I just think I might have arthritis because it runs in my family, and I'm starting to show signs of it.

How can anyone not love trains? A train is a journey into the unknown, smelling of iron, snow, and diesel fuel. Great trains cross Siberia from the Urals to the Sea of Japan, carrying weathered people past sights both picturesque and desolate. A train is not merely a machine, it is also the residue of all its travels, the smoke of the kilometers it has burned in the measured rhythm of its wheels.
One cannot love the Motherland, and not love those weary wanderers on the greatest of her roads.
A wise Karl Pilkington once said, what the hell is the point of a journey whose only selling point is that it takes loads of time?
http://calvinandhobbes.wikia.com/wiki/Building_character
And if we approach this seriously, train travel costs less than air travel, and is more comfortable. Besides, in Russia at least, trains stop at a lot of places which have no airports, so sometimes there's not much choice. Plus, yes, it builds character.

I like snow, hate cold. Snow, however, makes up for the cold.

What I WOULD want would be warm snow. Or maybe lukewarm snow.
Our snow has practically already melted. Nothing left but wet ice. Lovely.

Accounting is literally a repeat of a Gen. Chem II last year: a class I just cannot beat. No matter how hard I work (about 200% as hard as in all the other classes this year combined), I cannot prevent a low B or C in this class. I have done the tutoring, the note-taking, the asking of a teacher, the extra reading, the practice problems, and no matter what, in a week's time, I have forgotten everything learned last week and have to rote memorize it again. Rote memorization is not effective here.

College has been an awesomely humbling experience. After coasting through K-12 as an obnoxious know-it-all, learning that we fleshbags really are biologically limited kinda sucks. I will never be an engineer or an accountant or a chemist because the paycheck's not worth hacking it. I will take the GPA hit, fully understanding what it symbolizes.

The most frustrating feeling for an overachiever is inability to understand your own inability to understand. If that sounds confusing, it is.

Tomorrow, I have to go on a "field trip" all day so that I can learn the vital lesson that DOING DRUGS IS BAD. I know this. I am not going to do drugs, for a variety of reasons. However, I still have to go to the morgue and learn about what happens when you DO DRUGS, missing a day of school in the process.

Funnily enough, I'm currently in the middle of a project designed for two people that I've been working on by myself. It's a poster, so I can't bring it home without risking it getting damaged, and it's due Friday. I should be able to get an extension, but it's still pretty annoying.

FFS: I mostly do believe its in your approach or your mindset to these things that make them 'unable' or which deter you there. :3

I'm waiting to hit my wall in university.

I'm hoping the tension is worse than the actual wall or argalfraldaldal.

Unable is the wrong word. "Unable" here means ROI: if you put in 100hrs smart, diligent work on one project and get a poor result, and you put in 40hrs regular work on another project and get a great result then which is the smarter project to keep working on?

It's not approach or mindset making me worse at Accounting than most of the other students who put in far less work.

Yep. Welcome to the rest of humanity, meat bag. College was my wake up call too.

In some way, it's actually kind of comforting to know it's normal to be bad or okay at a lot of things and exceptionally, irrevocably bad at a select few.

If you're already in university and you're still waiting, you're probably mentally fine for 99% of the things you're actually going to do in life.
