Braking distance d = E_k/F_μ where F_μ is the force of friction which we can assume remains the same in both scenarios.

Thus d₂/d₁ = (v₂/v₁)²

A 41.4% increase in velocity ~ 50% increase in braking distance.

Yay, I fixed it. Couldn't access my HD to check for crash dumps in mini-XP, so I ran checkdisk, which found (and fixed) a bunch of unreadable sectors. Still got a few damaged sectors left, tough. At least windows recovery is actually running now.

In my entire life I've had one remotely decent Polish language teacher. And he was a substitute teacher. (granted he teached us for whole three years, but still)
