Linux Mint, why must you have the same issue with showing my battery life as Ubuntu had? No the battery charge is not 0% it is most assuredly >0%. And no the battery charge is not 0% and uncharging while it is plugged in either...

More annoyingly all the solutions I can find are either old and don't do anything or so bloody complex I just end up trying to write 'sudo hold_me_while_I_cry_in_a_corner' instead.

I have no issues at all with my battery status. Maybe it's a hardware issue?

Probably a buggy driver.  Welcome to using Linux on consumer hardware!  I still recall the eternal joy of trying to get the wireless adapter to work in Ubuntu on a laptop...

I don't. Yay.

That would have been so much more fitting if I was writing this on Ubuntu.

To be fair, it was a laptop from something like 2005 and I was attempting to install a fairly recent version of Ubuntu.  I probably shouldn't have expected it to work at all, but it seemed to, which made it all the more insidious.  It recognized the hardware and the GUI widgets made it seem that it was active, but it would never find any wireless signals.  I had to end up jumping through a lot of weird hoops that I don't recall to get it to work.  I'm pretty sure there was some crap about Ubuntu not wanting to install the driver on some quasi religious grounds...

Naturally, it ran like crap on the old laptop anyway, so it was mostly a waste of time.  256 MB of RAM was not enough.

Actually, that process was a lot more annoying because of the way packages are managed by Ubuntu (and probably almost all Linux distros).  I'm not really much of a Linux sysadmin, so I'm sure there are ways around it that I don't know about, but the gigantic package downloads just to query for little things like a wireless driver were an enormous pain in the butt when you're using internet that caps you at 250 MB per day.  If I'm not mistaken, it downloaded hundreds of megabytes to just get a package list, which seems so absurd I must be misremembering.

I guess that problem is largely Hughes.net's fault.  A download cap that small is almost useless these days, and they maintained that as late as a couple of years ago to my knowledge.

From arithmetic to pre-calc. That's a lot of years.

I'm in Pre-calc, I think, but I'm a Junior. Technically it's "Advanced algebra", but neither I nor my teacher is 100% on what that means.I have 3 textbooks, one is "Unified mathmatics", one is simply "Pre-Calacus" and the last is "Modern Abstract Algebra" which was apparently is a college level book.

Yeah, there are things I've forgotten. Mostly things where my learning was ehh.

Hey, me too!

But we also call it "trigonometry" and "math functions and analysis". Also, I only have one text book.

Senior in Precalc/Advanced Algebra (So far, we've basically been redoing the last quarter or so of Algebra II), one textbook on a graphical approach to calculus.

I just wish that I could make how I factor polynomials stick in my head. Everything recently seems to have been based off of that. I can fudge it and get the answers by graphing it on my calculator most of the time, but it pisses my teacher off since she wants work shown.

You could just memorize the Quadratic Formula, which I found to be much worse that just trying to factor, but a lot of people liked it.
