Finally had a brief argument with my Dad about what I'm doing to earn a living, and why I'm doing it. He kept trying to tell me it was stupid and terrible, as usual, but I think he at least accepted it as something I'm committed to, and he's not going to be able to convince me elsewise about. It's good to have had the discussion, but it still leaves me feeling upset that he can't just let me do my thing, and be happy about it. Hell, even if everything goes wrong and falls apart, I'll be the one picking up the pieces, not him. And at least I'll have tried.

Now if I could only get him to stop trying to set me up with the daughters of his bar buddies whenever I see him. Yes Dad, she's very pretty, and sounds like a very nice person. She also has more than a decade on me. I should be setting her up with you, dude. :I
