Wow, MH. Sorry to hear that. Sounds like an incredibly shitty experience. :(

Just be thankful it's over, I guess, and hope you never have to see these people again for any reason, heh.

I certainly wouldn't want to...

alright that's it

i am taking my cherished netbook, dismantling it, cleaning it until i get at least five hundred lux out of every single part then taking a soldering iron and the guidance of lady luck and leroy jenkins (may his chicken rest in pieces) and possibly duckduckgo and if it works throwing out the stock cooling and throwing in an alcohol-based one that's hanging around then sealing the vents because i wanted to do that ever since i got it and this is a good occasion

i'm also going to etch "fuck hp" on the heatsink if there even is one before throwing it out because if i do all of that shit the day deserves a bit of immaturity
also their local assistance is horrible
im very interested in this alcohol cooler mod, very interested cause i want to shove it into my laptop, detail more on parts.

i only had a (pretty shitty) koolance chc-122 water block, i had to install the actual cooler outside the laptop and run the pipes where they're needed

the hole formerly known as the vents is now occupied by the paips

it works extremely well though i switched to mineral oil because i do not trust these paips

Wow. Wow. That's ... incredibly bad.

Your family sounds like INCREDIBLY NICE PEOPLE! THE NICEST PEOPLE I'VE EVER HEARD OF! THEY ARE IN NO WAY DESERVING OF SCORN AND SHUNNING!
The above is sarcastic

I'm pissed about first-time Game Dev Clients asking for 2 months of 2-4 hours of work per day, and believing $70 is a completely fair commission. You know, rather than ridiculous and insane.

http://clientsfromhell.net/

also, that's $.58 cents an hour at best, which is... uh... wrong.

I would be ready to believe that artwork commissions don't fall under the standard laws applying to pay rates, because they're only paying for the product and aren't technically paying for the time you put into producing it. This, of course, is bullshit. And nobody who's never done art realizes how much time and effort goes into making the stuff, so "$70 for a picture? Shit, I'm being generous!" is a common mindset.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

FML Bay12, FML.

Sheesh, dude. When it rains...

I am so sorry to hear about all that. All of it. What a miserable, senseless pile of cruelty and misfortune. You don't deserve that kind of treatment from anyone. Wedding stress seems to bring out the ugly side of some people.

Here's hoping that things have since turned around.

Now to be fair, $70 is a fair commission if they're asking for a single, black and white line-art piece. Which they probably aren't looking at those hours.

How I've been acting the past two months since getting my own place is downright rageworthy to me. I know I can do better but I just keep fucking up and blaming it on other things. I'm pissed off at myself for being such a goddamn idiot, but at least now I know how I can improve.

After exchanging some parts, I still do not have the right parts to construct the chairs everyone has been badgering me to construct.

My school insurance waiver has been pending for a month, and the deadline is approaching, now I've got to call an insurance company and sort this shit out before they charge me hundreds of dollars for something I waived well before it was due to be waived. And I have to call the school to make sure they won't cancel my schedule because I "haven't paid" for something that should have been removed from my account weeks ago.

My room is once again full of unused crap everyone is constantly seeking to burden me with. I've got so many clothes my chest of drawers is long since filled so that I've got a giant stack of additional clothing, and still my grandparents and parents seek to constantly buy me more fucking clothes.

Got to dig up my driving instructions from years a go so I can renew my learners permit that I won't use, just as I didn't use the last one, because I do not have a fucking car and will not have one anytime soon. Even if I did have one it would constitute a huge drain on my resources, especially at college where parking is expensive, exclusive, and fickle. But I have to get it, because I can't get it after this year, and will thus have no way to get driving experience to get a real license for when I do end up needing a car years from now. And that'll be great since it'll only push my parents to further try to extravagantly burn both their and my money on getting me a car prematurely.

Going to have to decide what to bring to college this year, as I have finally upgraded from "cleaning closet" to "normal room". I could bring more things, but then moving stuff will be more of a hassle for questionable benefit. I could bring as much as I did last time, but then people are probably going to be even more nosy about my "lack of stuff" than last year.

Have to go to the dentist to make sure my screwed up gumline from my wisdom tooth emerging is going to fix itself, and have to go to the doctor to hopefully finish up my vaccinations. Lots of potential for horrific discoveries there.

Malaise, malaise, malaise. Got to get all this shit straight before I go back to college, and then hopefully get along with my new roommate, whom I know nothing about. Here's hoping he is not as dudebro as the last one, though I will admit that is a pretty safe bet.

This post is as much a to-do list as it is rage.
