Yes, basically. If you're going to be interacting with people over the long term, it's much better if they think of you as someone who will do what is necessary and avoid taking credit for things they didn't do, who will not be an aggressive threat to their own position. Even if it's not true. If people see you as helpful, humble, hard-working, and easygoing they'll usually be less likely to actively dislike you. Better still, you may actually be like that.

Just learned what % means in python.  I look at the five sheets of work that I did in trying to figure out a 20 digit serial number, and quickly check to make sure that when serial 9 is % by serial 15 it is equivalent to two.  It does not.

The modulo operator? Pretty standard in a lot of languages. It just provides the remainder of a division. So, for example, 9 % 3 = 0, because 9 / 3 is exactly 3.
11 % 3 = 2, because 11 / 3 does not an integer make, so it has a remainder.

Why didn't they use % for percent? Would make random numbers and probability so much easier.

Programming doesn't exactly work like maths does. % isn't used for percent because most programming languages don't natively include a way to have percent, beyond things like floats and such. Instead of a 30%, just use .3

I really get enraged when I see how society treats people who nicely follow it's whims and
fancies. Oh sure, be good looking, be charming, follow everybody's expectations and be
successful(where 'successful' is defined by how much you earn) and everyone will just adore
you. But be a misfit, be sincere with everyone, question their laws and ways, fight against
ignorance and be successful by your own terms and you will be branded by them and rejected in
the worst possible way.
Sorry this was more of a rant against my family, but it really enrages me at times and especially now.
