Eh.  I deal with that whole "surrounded by assholes" thing by thinking of people as assholes.  If everyone's an asshole, then no one really is.  At least, it's hard to picture them as being bigger assholes.  Keeps me from getting upset with them.

To be honest, we're all here in large part because we're bereft of similar acquaintances otherwise, or in all too few number.

I now have a cranial fracture.

Help.
Now, I'm not a doctor, so take that into consideration.

But given the situation you've described, I think you need to take the nearest comfortably sized, but heavy, thing and hit yourself a few (more) times in the head with it. With any luck, that will widen the fracture enough your brains spill out, saving you from having to exist with the memory of that program. If you're unlucky, you'll just get brain damage and amnesia, but with any fortune it will be fatal.

Good luck, and god speed. Yes, I am joking. Mostly.

E: And in actual rage news, I apparently forgot to clean out the folder Oblivion was in before re-downloading it and making a backup, after I cocked up mod installation so badly the game broke beyond my ability to fix. Which meant that when I installed it for a second time, it still had whatever caused the initial buggerup to occur mixed in with the new stuff, and those files got carted along into the backup. The upshot of this colossal fuckup is I'm getting to download Oblivion for the third time in a 24 hour period.

Bloody hell FCOM. Why are you such a raging pain in the ass to install? Morrowind mod installation was much simpler than this bullshit :(

But, whatever. I carry on. Sometimes computer use just means being more stubborn than an inanimate object.

Parents buy Black ops 2 and complete the campaign in 2 days. Cue complaining that there's nothing more to the game. I tell them multiplayer. "BUT WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR MULTIPLAYER!!!". Uuugh.

And they pointed out the valid criticism that the latest CoD games and many shooters in general have Campaigns that serve solely as vehicles to allow the publishers to release them as new full price games rather than downloadable weapon and map packs.

Serious. You have parents who play video games? That's pretty awesome.

Eh.
My mother can barely find the power button, my father only does work on his laptop. My grandparents were still not sure about this whole new-fangled "microwave oven" and "cable TV" tomfoolery.

I'd be envious, if I had any kind of relationship with my parents whatsoever.

It's only CoD tough. But yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. There was a time when my parents would play on the PS3 for an hour trying to improve their time on estate takeout (or whatever that special op in MW2 is called)

Same here.  My father can't figure out how a TV remote works.

I got my love of strategy games from watching my dad play Civilization and Civilization 2 back in the day. I'm fairly certain he's settled on Civilization 4 as the one that has held his attention for the longest.
