Just AVG, but heck, if my antivirus program is telling me it's filled with viruses that's good enough for me. I never really wanted to download steam in the first place, after all.

AVG defines a trojan as anything you got from the internet. I'm surprised you can use a web browser with that installed!

@Sirus: Yeah, that looks like the same site. I went via a link from TF2's page, though, after it told me I needed to download steam just to play it. Which is ridiculous, but that goes without saying.

Thing is, the company that makes TF2 (Valve) also runs Steam, so a lot of their games run on it. Sorta like EA with their Origin client and their games, but actually semi-trustworthy

I doubt it. It usually doesn't warn me about anything, but once Steam instealled a big dramatic window popped up and was all like, "holy fuck! Viruses! In that folder named 'STUPID STEAM!' OHMYGOD DUDE WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO".

Or something like that, anyway.

Could be? It couldn't be anything else, Steam has never had anything resembling a trojan and never will, Valve is as legit as it gets.

And Steam doubles as their network platform, so (unlike for some of the single player games that require it), TF2 requiring steam makes perfect sense.

Arrrgh! I've tried again, several times to download Steam, ignoring the warnings, and it doesn't fucking work. Honestly, I install the damn thing from their website and it still. Does not. Fucking. Work.
Why are these people making software, and why do people continue to use it?
