See today's Real Life Comics for my take on Disney buying LucasArts. I just had that discussion, almost word for word, with a friend of mine.
What's this? It doesn't immediately jump to the worst possible conclusion with slippery slope arguments, but instead provides a reasonable outlook. That's contrary to roughly 90% of the conversation I've seen on every this topic.

Someone I know was quite rude over sms, failing to reply to messages, and the like. This means war.

I didn't even consider that last point before. Star Wars Episode VII, written and directed by Joss Whedon. That....that is very interesting indeed.

It also might give nerds heart attacks, though.

Man, around here, all they do is smash pumpkins :(

Call the police on those hooligans?

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Joss Whedon declined doing Star Wars.

A much shorter argument:
'Don't knock it until you try it.'
A terrible argument. Don't knock suicide until you try it kids!

How about, "don't knock it until you have good reason to assume you'll dislike it."

How about "I'll be the judge of the goodness of my reasons to dislike it?". Just like nobody is forcing "haters" to watch that third trilogy and/or comment on how much they will hate it, nobody is forcing YOU to read their comments and reply to them.

what? the 'terrible argument' part?

when I say 'not better', I generally mean 'it may not be equal, either. it is, in fact, probably worse, but it's still an argument!'

He did not say it was a better argument, he said it was a shorter argument. Using a terrible example serves nothing.
