See, in caveman times, the flowers were eight feet tall and carnivorous and their spores would sprout inside your sinuses.

This pure mountain spring water is indispensable. Literally. I'm out of paper cups.

Yesterday, I was noticing how warm it's been lately; so much so that I spent half the day sans clothes. Today, it is literally snowing outside.

Yes, it is also doing that here in Ohio. While I managed to get to the title agency and back today just in time to avoid the worst of it, it shall be an interesting commute home.

Nah, the sig is for people who whine about the window resolution being too big for non-widescreen monitors without searching for solutions. The actual installation process has a host of things that can go wrong if you don't pay careful attention, from a prompt that asks you to click 'Yes' to not overwrite your current dll files with older versions that are packaged with the game files, to having a computer that uses ',' as the decimal seperator rather than '.'. It can be a bit of a pain to install if you aren't careful to read up on it thoroughly beforehand.  :P

Aurora on small monitors:
1. Game Parameters -> Reduced Height Windows.
2. Lock taskbar to the right side of your desktop.
3. Run Resize Enable

Might have something to do with the game being written in VB6.

It's akin to trying to use Siri's voice recognition, but you only speak in Old High German.

So, on Sunday, we had to take my stepdad to the hospital because of seizures, and all Monday he was vomiting his brains out in the bathroom. Monday night, I spot him leaving, to go buy beer no less. I ask my mom about whether he should be drinking, much less driving a truck in that condition, and she tells me he was pissed because all day she's been hiding or watering down his beer, so that he doesn't  drink too much, but at the same time doesn't stop cold turkey(which was causing at least the vomiting).

I don't even think there's an animated GIF out there that can adequately describe my feelings on that.

It is possible (I don't know how likely however) to die from acute alcohol withdrawal. Apperently it is something you have to ween off of, not quit 'cold turkey' like tobacco.

Likely enough that I wouldn't recommend it. And painful enough that that lack of recommendation goes even for human sacks of crap.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

10-minute periods of no connection on the university internet. There are supposed to be three networks for my room. A general network, a gaming network so the Xboxes don't crash the general network, and a per-room network.

My room does not have a per-room network. Not sure why. And whenever either the general or gaming networks crash, they both go down simultaneously, so I don't really know why they're separate.
