Yes. Clearly a bug that ought to be fixed in the future, but exploit it in the meantime.

After several hours of rigorous killing, slaying thousands of humans in their beds and reducing most of thew world's civilizations to ghost towns occupied only by corpses and the wind-scattered belongings of the fallen innocents I struck down indiscriminately, I felt a small modicum of guilt...for not going outside and getting some fresh air. So I went outside and got what little sun was left and came back free of any worries and resumed my ongoing pogrom of all life. Whaqt's the point of playing a game if it makes you feel bad.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

I'm a pansy when it comes to Adventure Mode. I tend toward non-violence unless provoked, and I'd sooner flee from a town that got angry at me for some reason rather than fight them all, even if I know I could take them. I only kill animals that threaten my life, or peoples whom I'm at war with.

Also, when I raid Goblin Towers, I do it to free captured children or defeat Demon-leaders and their Priests and Warlords. I make a point of only killing those who I can't evade, or who had a direct hand in kidnappings or killings of others (thieves and warriors).

I even hate killing Megabeasts, since they're some of the last of their kind, unless they're Constructs or Undead. The idea of killing off a unique, randomly generated entity, and all of the awesome possibilities it could have for story generation in Fortress Mode, is just too heavy a weight to bear.

This is also the only game that is able to do this to me. Well, this and D&D, I suppose.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

^ This is more-or-less what happened to my conscience roughly two minutes (gotta factor in travel time) after playing adventure mode. Guilt? Guilt is for the weak.

because that's not the dwarven way. Could you make more statues of Urist instead of an impossibly large one chiseled out of the mountain? Sure, you could. If you want to be called a ninny elf by all your friends.

Hm, I remember fighting a crapload of Harpies once. They weren't really giving much trouble (heck, I even use them to train dodging & armor skills)...then I saw a bleeder trying to save it's own hide...

So I took out a x-bow bolt and threw it...but here's the thing, I was actually lagging quite a bit, I watched it fly a panel per second in slow motion and saw how I missed...crap.

But then I saw one of the animals watching our little brawl was right in the bolt's flight path. And I was saying "no, no, no, no...." every panel as it got closer to the cute little Fox. Predictably, it's a direct hit and even cuts it's tail off. So the little guy bled to death while I finished off my brawl. Oh, do friendly fire ever happen of Fortress mode?

But really, the animals reaaally like to watch our fights don't they? Hell, I could even imagine them making bets while cheering.

This is why we need an Adventure mode update badly. Currently, the only productive thing to do is kill and burn the world.

I agree. We need something in the adventure mode to do like buying a house and servants, or something cozy..

One time I chased a couple mountain goats down and killed them.  I didn't feel too good about that, even though I've seen plenty of mountain goat attacks in other adventures.

At the very least we need a "spend the month in town" button or somesuch, or make retiring have more effects than "you are now blinged out."
