Hi!

somehow, having only read that quote i imagined it was referring to avatar... after reading the original in context, i'm still not sure it is not referring to avatar.

Are you referring to my comment with the Space Marines? I was referring to Warhammer 40K as the source of the Space Marines and a non-mainstream fantasy world....

yes, i know but you have to admit, space marines versus giant cute animu girls from space does sound like avatar, and the space naked furries won by virtue of sheer cuteness

O.o
Okay, now I get it.
You see, after seeing the trailers, I lost complete interest in Avatar, so I didn't even know how it ended. I guess, then it has a small redeeming aspect for me - but that is not enough for me to investigate it any further :) :) :)

Thank you for clarifying that.

[offtopic]I am also an avid fan of GALS!, which is pretty much a shonen manga. And I could find more.[/offtopic]
Ahem.
Now let us pretend we are still talking about how childish DBZ is while I promptly make my escape.

DBZ isnt childish. DB is though.

Thanks. That allows me to add another reason why Avatar doesn't sound interesting to me: similarities to Disney movies which I abhor do not put you on my friends list.

I think he meant that it wouldn't put the movie on his friends list.  Don't ask me how that makes sense.

On topic: I enjoy listening to my Japanese grandmother talk about how annoying Japan and its inhabitants are, and how glad she is that she doesn't live there anymore.

DBZ is pretty childish. Just not in the same way as the original Dragonball is.

Hi!

Askot Bokbondeler:Just a clarification, as my shorted explanation got misunderstood (I tried to keep it short as it was a negative and OT thing).

Footkerchief is basically right that I was talking about Avatar and stating that if it was similar to any Disney movie, that would be a reason for me to dislike it (= not being a friend of it). I wasn't sure whether you were ironic or not about my attitude towards Disney which is why I was explicit about that in the first place. In case you weren't ironic, let me clarify that I hate Disney.

I hope you didn't feel attacked or anything.

i enjoy some stuff from disney, and i think that pocahontas graphism was a tasteful departure from tradition:P.
i sincerelly got the impression that you liked disney when you mentioned earlier that someguyokun wateveroshi, the inventor of shojomethingonenoji(:P) was inspired by disney's characters. i'm not hurt that you don't share my views on disney, tough, or as hurt as i would be if you dissed enki bilal (who i mentioned earlier, and i'm taking the opportunity to shamelessly plug him again)

about the misunderstanding, i know you from these forums, i know your a pretty reasonable person and was sure you didn't meant what i understood, it was just that "you" that was a bit out of place

I like the 2D drawn Disney movies because they always had the best villain songs. I still occasionally catch myself singing Hellfire.
