Hey guys, I just wanted to report a little bug I had...
Some of the problems don't really make sense to me. Deleting .zip files should have no effect whatsoever at all.
If you experienced problems where settings seem to have been reverted or not saved, I'm willing to bet its because you installed the graphics after changing your settings. Everytime you change your graphics, the settings get reset to whatever settings that pack has. (Also maybe if you try to change them while playing the game it won't work either? Not sure.)
i keep getting a can't find dwarf fortress when i try to run the lazy newb pack executable...
1) Are all the files and folders there? Like is there a Dwarf Fortress folder with Dwarf Fortress.exe?
2) Make sure you don't put the pack in a system-protected location on your computer. Try moving the pack to a new place, like your desktop.
Lazy Newb Pack works great, but I finally got around to trying Dwarf Therapist, and it tried to access the Internet. Anyone know what that's all about? Is it legit?
Dwarf Therapist automatically downloads updates for compatibility with new versions. It is legit, but I don't see why blocking it would stop it from working altogether.
EDIT:I would really like to know why there's always these warnings popping up whenever I choose one of the custom embark profiles that come with the pack.
Where you embark affects what items are available.
If an embark profile asks for certain kinds of items (especially a specific kind of wood) that the place doesn't have near it, it'll give you an error and you'll have to choose other items to replace it with.
Press "p" (for "Problems") in the preparation screen to see what items were not available in your location.
