So I'm starting v2.0, but obviously I have to wait for a few utilities. In the meantime, I'll take suggestions for what should be included and keep track of what is left.

EDIT: LNP v2.0 was released

V2.0 IDEAS/PROGRESS: Edit: Spoilered for oldness

What do you guys think? Any other ideas?
I also am debating the tileset issue. I'm not sure how to make it easy to choose/change the graphic set. One problem is graphic sets are too tied to the RAWs, and so switching between them can cause problems. I've written guides on how to change and migrate save files which I hope make sense.

Still being a noob myself, and your pack being the first thing I've used.  I would be happy with just an updated version of what you already released.  I tried a few graphics packs and Pheobus's is my favorite so far anyways. :D  A small guide for switching out tilesets would probably be pretty good though.   I'm not really sure how that works yet.  At least switching from say Pheobus's to Ironforge or something.  There is more than just replacing the graphics folder right?

Thanks. Yeah, I'll post a small How-To for moving your save file over to the new version, as well as how to change to a new tileset.

EDIT: MOVED THE GUIDES TO THE OP

LOL well it makes sense to me now, I just wasn't sure what exactly moved or replaces.   I don't know if it would qualify for noob friendly though. :D

Or lazy.

Glad it worked for you. I just re-wrote it from a "moving save files" perspective.
It doesn't cover non-pre-packaged graphic sets though, or if you just want to move the tileset files to your current version.. :p
Edit: Just re-wrote it several times. Whew! Now it should be pretty comprehensive and simple... hopefully.

I would like to remind that it is very neccessary to have vanilia DF raws, without modifications (with exception of tileset). :)

I start to like it, really. Mayday have carpload of other things inside (different bindings, changed raws, new monsters and other unnecessary rubbish), not only tileset. So I probably will be switching to LNP (Lazy Newb Pack) permanently, providing it will stay true to vanilia DF.

By the way, you could release incomplete pack (without stonesense), as, say, 2.0 beta pack. :P

Wait, what? What new monsters do I have?
The only different binding I have is view UP and DOWN (and since a few versions ago these are added, not replacing the original binding).
And the raws are only edited to change the tiles displayed for plants stones and vermin.

Just to clarify things, I have no business with getting more people to use my pack :P

From your page:

v29: (...)
added Magnut's new beasties pack
If you removed them since, you did not indicate it anywhere.

Yeah, sure. ;)

Oh... I am sorry then. So... could you made it more clear in description that it is not new monsters, but new graphics for them?

I don't know if outright cheating utilities should be included in LNP, but DFhack does not support .08 yet anyways.

Alright, I'm thinking I'll release a Version "1.9", with everything except Stonesense
EDIT:
1.9 RELEASED!

thanks for this, registered just to say it.

Also, DFhack is compatible with .08 (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=58809.0)

I vote that it should be included in the pack, it's more useful than 'easy mode' and both can be considered cheating.
