Also could I use the LNP GUI to manage for example the Genesis Mod? So I'd be able to turn invaders on/off, change population cap, set liquid depth on, change hotkeys and so forth?

Thank you in advance :)

It works fine with mods, just don't change graphics ;)

Nice to know. But now I'm wondering why you can't change graphics. I'm planning on putting in Genesis + the Legends of the Forgotten Realms mods, but they both come with custom sprites for some of the creatures and civs. I was just wondering if it was possible to put those sprite into the LNP.

Sorry if this has already been addressed but does the Aquifers option currently work on LNP? I set aquifers to No but when I did a world creation they were still there.

The problem so far is that when we change graphics we basically copy part of the raws from the graphics directory of the LNP.
You can work around this by installing the graphics you want, then copying over the mod (replacing)

Yes it does work. The embark doesn't show the correct stuff currently. However, if you press "f" (find location) and set it to "no aquifer" then it will show that all the world is without an aquifer  ;)
so, the embark window is bugged, but the LNP and Finder are fine

Alright, maybe I'm not doing something right then. I set Aquifer: NO. I then launch DF, create a new world and start a new game. In the biome it shows an aquifer, when I embark it warns me there is an aquifer. Then when I start digging down, I run into the aquifer. Am I doing something wrong?

the thing is that you need to turn aquifers off before generating a world...  ;D
so, do that before generation please ;) it should work

Clicked to run the program, and received this error.

lazy newb pack.exe - .NET Framework initialization error.
Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application. [OK]

I have net 4.0 apparently.

(edit to add the title bar on the error popup)

yeah, just download 3.5 (it doesn't override anything - they work together) and you'll be set!

They don't override each other?  What fresh madness is this now...

Next you'll be saying that the Urists will do their primary jobs on their own.  Doctoring, trading, meeting, forming the squad and attacking the gobbos with weapons instead of babies...

Alrighty, so it does work like such.  The website linked for 3.5 had an image like a stop sign warning me there was a newer version released instead.  Of course getting 3.5 and 4 took unreasonably longer than it should have.  Not to mention the service packs and security updates.  Why exactly they haven't compiled a new .exe with them already included is beyond me.

Thanks for the info.

I've been playing 40d so long, I've never gotten info the newer versions due to the military and hospitals being weird.  The only weird stuff to fuss with in 40 is getting Urist to quit dual wielding blue-stuff chainmail shirts and pick up a sword and shield already.

Newest version is tripping my anti-virus.

dfattachtest for DFHack is coming up as infected with Backdoor.Win32.Poison.ckra. Update: A whole bunch of DFHack modules have various Win32.Poison.xxxx types apparently.

False positive? 31.21 one didn't have the same problem.

Using Kaspersky.

yeah, that's a false positive. technically, that's not a problem with the LNP but rather DFhack.
the tools do indeed have memory-hacking modules, so that's why they're tripping your AV. just whitelist them.
or get a new antivirus just kidding

Replace Kaspersky? Nevah!

Thanks for letting me know the root cause for sure. :)

... Micro$hit ...

Don't you just love those childish fanboys?
*nods*
*takes out an RPG-7*
erm...
not possible in visual basic, sorry.
I use linux myself (along with windows obviously) and for linux:
 - the main utility (therapist), along with some others work only under windows
 - we're bad at coding in non-visual basic
 - visual basic only works with windows.

oh, and:
WINE
Ok, if i'm a fanboy, then what am i a fan of? Just throwing out random insults is not cool. I was making a point that this pack works semi-decent ONLY under windows now, which is rather dumb, previous versions worked on other platforms with no tweaking.

oh, and:
WINE can't emulate net 3.5
