When I see dependencies mentioned, I immediately think of MS Services.  .NET and ASP.  Do you have .NET 3.5 or 4.0 in your installed Programs list found in the Control Panel?

This fella here from asp.net website fixed that exact error by running Windows Update.  *shrug*  Do that first.  Easy fix possibly.  I'd do one additional thing before going to next level.  I rip out all the .NETs out of my Windows Update history, so I got fresh copies from Windows Update, the next time I run it.  Do you know how to remove Updates sent to you from Windows Update?  Its a little buried, but its doable.

Of the online fixes, I found this one the most beneficial, far more complexity and language barriers in the other.  I'd want to try simple stuff first, but this has some meaty fixes.

Let us know how you made out.  Good luck, Knutor

Troas, my vanilla 10's interface looked just like that. *scratch head* Should I put two bracket keybinds in there somewhere.  [ ]. Isn't that how LNP's interface does the wheel mouse zoom?  With an [ and an ].  I sorta have forgotten, bin awhile, haven't been playing DF hardcore like I was last month.  But I'm anxious to pick it back up again, to learn the cart stuff.  Knutor

Looks like knutor and Troas posted the keybind changes to vanilla.  I didn't modify the file directly, I changed it within the game, and it was mostly removing the shifts from going up and down z-levels, changing the + in scrolling to =, and adding the square brackets to zooming.  Still easier than trying to find all the hauling changes and adding them.

The Lazy newb pack needs to be updated NOW!

I'm really curious what's currently holding back the project. dfhack is updated. dwarf therapist is updated. I'm not familiar with the various graphics packs though.

If anyone has been able to successfully get LNP working smoothly with the new version, if you could upload it, us lazy newbs would be forever grateful.

EDIT: I'm glad I'm not the one in charge of updating this. I'd probably go insane at some point. Especially seeing that I have no technical know-how whatsoever.

Just to clarify Troas post.  Vanilla is missing [KEY:]] and [KEY:[] add them or copy and paste this code instead into the interface.txt file.

#LNP Interface
Code: [Select]
[BIND:ZOOM_IN:REPEAT_SLOW]
[KEY:]]
[BUTTON:0:5]
[BIND:ZOOM_OUT:REPEAT_SLOW]
[KEY:[]
[BUTTON:0:4]

#Vanilla Interface
Code: [Select]
[BIND:ZOOM_IN:REPEAT_SLOW]
[BUTTON:0:5]
[BIND:ZOOM_OUT:REPEAT_SLOW]
[BUTTON:0:4]

could somebody give me a link to splinterz' Therapist branch?

The "splintermind-attributes" Dwarf Therapist clone can be found here.  FYI, it's currently in v12 for those of you still using earlier versions.

OK now I'm confused (and also newb to DF !).
When I took DF therapist for this thread, did I have an older version? Is "splintermind-attributes" a follow up, more updated? splintermind is the same personn as DwarfEngineer? May my 4th fortress end up in dwarves' blood and death-by-gobelin?

Killing dwarves is so much fun. Heck, even the dwarves agree, else they wouldn't kill themselves so often.

Thereapist should be updated to the latest version, and available in the first post in the thread.  You don't really need to worry about splinterz' branch atm, it's just an experimental version of DT with some additional features.

I have a number of Dwarf Therapist versions in my LNP utilities folders.  Unzip what you download into it, and it'll show up in LNP.  I really should read that exclusion.txt, to learn how to remove the old versions from showing up in LNP.  HA!  Lazy Noob here, doing it the lazy way.  Renaming the folders /OLD/ so I can seperate the most recent ones, instead of doing it the right way.

I'm using splinterminds 11.1, right now.  Knutor
