I was not aware the avatar was a tribute, I just thought it was a weird recolor someone did. Still a strange tribute, though.

I don't get why everyone trips over this and at the same time engages in a normal debate in the communism thread. I can't really think of a communist country that was/is notably better then Italy (at least until the war started)

My wife has remarked that I'd have joined the Nazi Party in 1929.

I cannot refute her with a straight face.

Most of us would've joined the Nazi party if we lived in 1929 Germany, as much as we like to imagine we wouldn't. It's amazing how small privileges can corrupt people.

I actually know several IRL fascists, as in people identifying themselves with fascist parties, if not openly militating in them. And several others of murkious allegiance (as in, they'd deny it if you asked them outright, but sometimes let stuff slip)

Not for small privilages, but in response to the revolutionary fervor running through Germany. I would definately see the Communist strikes as the reason for the nation's collapse and would seek to stamp out the Red threat that was boiling over in Paris Commune-style city states of worker's uprisings. I should probably correct my date of joining to 1922.

Really, one Communist revolutionary leader had been admitted to the asylum and wrote a very indignant telegram to Moscow complaining their dignitary had taken the key to the washroom.

Wow, well, my life would most certainly be more eventful if I was a fascist, seeing as this is a very multi-cultural country I live in.
Lots of events every day. Meeting new people...burning them. The works.

That's not fascism, that's intolerance. Fascism is more like running a country like you would run a company, and unless I'm mistake it works quite well when properly implimented.

Are you Hungarian, mayhaps?
Or Italian?
According to rumours, dark clouds are gathering over these lands.

Depends on your definition of "well". It gets pretty nasty for people who can't keep up either way
