Me thinks this thread was a parody of the Communist one. Obvious troll thread is obvious.

Most of us would've joined the Nazi party if we lived in 1929 Germany, as much as we like to imagine we wouldn't. It's amazing how small privileges can corrupt people.
Remember, the Nazi/fascist party in Germany had a pretty tenuous position. People only really supported them when there was a crisis on and round about the time the Reichstag burned down the government had gone a long way to solving most of the crisis, fixing their worthless currency problem, spiraling economy and negotiating loans from America. The Nazi party wasn't particularly popular back then because people supported them because they had promised to save them and they no longer really needed to be saved. It was just because the leaders of the Weimar Republic elected Hitler as Chancellor because they thought they could control him and then the Reichstag burned down and oh wait 1929 I see your point.

Goddamn it, I don't want to delete this, that'd be five minutes of work going down the toilet!

do any of you think your neighbor deserves more rights than someone on the other side of the globe? are you proud of your nation's inheritance, flag and past achievements as if they were your own? if so then your probably a fascist.

That's a nationalist. A facist believes some people are destined to lead, some people are destined to follow and a lot of people are destined to suck. they also believe that those destined to lead are the only ones that should be elected to rule the country and usually this is determined through the law of the jungle (Eat or be eaten). Essentially a dictatorship that's seen as the only right way and a natural order. Do note that many fascists adhere to nationalist elements as well and don't get me started on Nazism, which is derived from fascism.

I'd argue that fascism is (ultra)nationalist by definition. A non-nationalistic fascist is an oxymoron, as they usually build their ideology (such as it is) around a dogma joining up nationalism with religion/race/personality cult/all of the above.

Also worth pointing out that while fascist regimees were cozy with businessmen, they also had populist undercurrents, for the most part.

You appear to have described a large number of Americans, my friend...
Though I'm sure that was the point...

i'm guessing that you are american, by this post, because americans main feature is americacentrism*... nationalism has a considerable amount of supporters in every country
*tough "amecacentrism" is also a feature of many countires, even nationalistic ones

fascism is nationalistic by definition, and often associated with a monarchy, and unless he's a national socialist, wich promotes a form of socialism, a nationalist would often identify himself with the fascist ideology.

Fascism only goes with nationalism because there's no other body it can represent. I don't think the pure definition of fascism automatically means nationalism. You can promote the ascension of the wealthy and the influential at the expense of others without some undying love for your country.

It's just that all fascists claim to be nationalists because they need nationalists to support their agenda. And nationalist values can promote a fascist point of view when it comes to other people.

Ah, but fascists don't (officially) advocate that. They are fundamentally ultranationalists, with racism or religion (or both) thrown into the mix, and often some populist measures to appease the masses.  For instance, check the Spanish fascists' official 'creed' (or whatever you want to call it): http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/SPfalange.htm

I dunno... it'd technically be possible to be a kindof international fascist, who believes in one leader over everyone, and therefore not be nationalistic as well.

It's also worth noting the majority of Germans never voted for the Nazis at all (although they were the biggest voting block for a while) - they were just able to take power after the Reichstag fire.

And this "You're probably a fascist" thing is dumb.  It's sortof like "Do you think the government should build and maintain roads?  THEN YOU'RE PROBABLY A COMMUNIST".
