Taming troubles
« on: June 10, 2010, 10:47:24 am »

So i found an underground cavern, and put up a bunch of cabe traps in the hopes of catching something good. I got a bunch of naked mole dogs. However, said mole dogs aren't appearing on the "Tame large animals" menu caged or un-caged - and neither are my alligators of leopards.

Any help?

If you don't have a Dungeon Master you can't tame exotic animals.

If you're playing DF2010 you probably won't get a dungeon master, so you won't be able to tame them without modding.

Dungeon Masters don't show up automatically in 2010?

Apparently they're bugged.

I solved the problem by replacing all instances of [PET_EXOTIC] in the raws with [PET]

Not to mention that they live only 2 or 3 years or so and simply don't breed fast enough to be viable as pets.
