At this rate, the Major's going to have the lot of us court-marshaled, including his own crew.
Likely. If he doesn't die first for whatever reason.

They were never up. Not once after you guys got the ship. I admit, I should have told you guys, and that's my fault. Though the "Shields in-active" was on the status of your ship since last turn. Soooooo... Not 100% my fault. More like 99% my fault. :P

I'll alter my turn since bringing the shields up is the engineer's job, and I'll probably screw it up.

Turn 16: Hold on baby...

I was bored at the time when I did your actions, so don't expect a whole lot of seriousness from your action's results, 'kay?

Also, I realized I forgot to remove a Nova from the Roadviper last turn (the reason for losing one Nova is Paranatural's fail, in which he fired a Nova randomly into space).

As soon as i get an angle of fire on one, fire at the Xecobian ships, aiming at the hellfire plasma cannons, or just the shield if its still up
[4]: You wait for a clear shot.

(Roadviper)

Attain a target lock on one or more of the Fuego Respiro turrets, but don't fire until we are in range and the shields are down. Meanwhile, try to fine tune the firing and targeting systems.

STRIKETHROUGH CANCELED ACTIONS PLZ.

[3]: You attain a lock on, but you can't keep the lock if you move, Thus you can't fine tune it. But you've got just enough concentration to hold the APIMGT's sights on the right spot on the right Fuego Respiro turret to give yourself a +1 bonus to the to-hit roll next turn.

(Roadviper)
Attempt to increase the power to the engines so then the ship can move 5 spaces this turn

[6]: You push the poor reactor still, allowing your ship to move five spaces at a time. The reactor doesn't seem to be pleased though, as it's no longer calm.

Trained engineering [2/12]

Help the captain fly us towards the enemy.
[6]: You help the captain fly towards the enemy, but do it quite poorly, forceing the captain to make one move in the wrong direction.

Roadviper

Fire with cannons until shields are down.

[Autofail]: You fire... Into the distance. The destroyer isn't within your 90 degree angle of fire. You're also WAY too far out of range.

Trained missile [1/12], Basic cannon [0/4].

VoidRaper

Yell groggily "Can someone get the shields on? I like shields y'know!"
You can all tell that waking up dizzy and disoriented is not unusual to him.
Then clamber into my turret and shoot at the Xecobians (if I can. I can't tell ranges ATM)

"*Ahh!* Can someone get the shields on? I like shields y'know!"

[4-1=3]: You fumble back into your seat, nearly falling back down.

Fly the ship NE,NE,E. And try through some miracle to move east more than possible, probably via quantum mechanics of some sort.
[4]: You fly NE, NE and then E. Yay, no screwing up this turn! You don't manage to fly east more then possible, 'cause I won't let you break the rules.

Trained piloting [2/12].

Test my godlike powers by waking up.
[2]: You don't seem to have any powers, you poor excuse for a god!

VoidRaper
Quote from: Internal Communications @ Bridge (if not in range)
Weapons standing ready, sir, just get me in range.
Quote from: Internal Communications @ Secondary Gunnery Positions (if gunners don't fire this turn)
What's your status, gunners?
Quote from: Internal Communications @ Engineering (if shields are still offline)
Where the hell's our shields, Engineering?

As soon as possible, get a targeting solution on the enemy destroyer's bottom center- if in range, open up with all weapons.
"Weapons standing ready, sir, just get me in range."

[2]: He's still out of range. You sit thinking: "Jeez, this is going far too slow."

(Captain Silo, Roadviper)

Head NE four tiles.

[3+1=4]: You fly 4 tiles NE, though you have one unspent movement point. You were going to move NE one more time but Frelock distracted you, Sending you flying NW a tile.

Trained Pilot [1/12].

Voidraper

Ignore the voices in my head and bring our damn shields up.
STRIKETHROUGH CANCELED ACTIONS PLZ.

[1], REROLL [3]. Reroll failed: The voices aren't happy.

At all.

They hurt you, by making you trip.

Dervin's face [1]
VS
Floor [2]

You hit the floor with a *THWOM!*. It immediately knocks you out. The floor has a dent of your face in it now.

Ouch.

(Yes, I stole the bolding from Dwarfaholic's RTD.)

Major Anthony: Ah damn, this isn't going as I planed...

Major Anthony: Everyone, FIRE!

[6]: The Thrasher's PAAPMACs fire at the destroyer's front armor, one hits.

Shld:[6][3][4]
Dmg:[2+1=3]: The PAAPMAC doesn't damage the shields sufficiently to knock even one shield roll off.

Major Anthony: Shit.

[1], TRAINED BLOCK [2]: The Thrasher's bottom gunner still doesn't fire.

Major Anthony: Goddammit sargoth, you had better fire the weapons at the destroyer or I'll fire my pistol at your god damn head! THIS IS NOT A F*Static*ING JOKE YOU SON-OF-A*Static*. *Sounds of a pistol cocking* We are going to die if you don't fire your weapons at the damned destroyer, SO FIRE THEM!

[6]: The destroyer fires at the Thrasher's front armor with it's Hellfires, one hits.

[1+2=3]: The Hellfire doesn't do much damage, only removing 1/2 points of armor.

[5]: The destroyer's flares fire at the Thrasher. ALL hit.

[4][2][4][6][6][2][5][3]

Two glance off. Doing no damage, however, one scratches the Thrasher, two hit the armor's side, one hits dead on, and another two hit a weak spot. Dealing a shocking 10 armor damage. Breaking through. The thrasher is left with a huge hole in the frontal armor. The thrasher shacks violently.

[6]: The two Fuego respiros fire. One hits.

[6+1=7]: It deals out 2 points of internal damage.

Major Anthony: *Alarms blaring in the background along with sounds of fire and explosions* (Calmly and softly) Hold on baby, I know I've abused you several times before to the point of destruction, but please, just one more time...

Major Anthony: Voidraper, Roadviper, if we don't make it... Please, finish the testing and report if it was a success or not to the admiral. And also tell him to call my wife, and tell him to say that I love her... I'll try to run, but I can't guarantee that I will be able to get out of range in time... Plus, unless we abandon ship now, we're done for. And I'm pretty sure naval intelligence will run over my ass if I abandon ship while these top secret weapons are still functioning, heh, great job I've got eh? Also, if we die, then be sure to finish off the destroyer as quick as possible and RUN, as the Xecob's will be all over your ass as soon as their main fleet detects you.

Sorry about taking so long, I'm just having a hard time mustering up the will to update this. It's just quite limiting and/or difficult to update. I like RTDs, I really do, but the tough rules combined with the level of seriousness doesn't really let me enjoy updating my own game...

Regardless, I'll still update this, just infrequently. Don't worry about me and offer to quit if I want to cancel this, it will only make me more stressed right now, as I'm kinda in the middle point of "I don't want to continue this anymore" and "I don't want to abandon this as it would make the players unhappy and make me feel bad for abandoning yet another game".

Also: I'm thinking of doing something like a Nethack universe type RTD while doing this one, so you should keep your eyes open if you are interested.

(Captain Silo, Roadviper)

Head NE three and then north as far as possible. Order use of all weapons, Novas included.

You know, if you really don't like this, you could always have us blasted out of space and miraculously crash-land on some planet where an RTD you do like proceeds to occur. :P

If I did, it would no longer be "USDF Spaceship RTD", it would be "USDF Spacemarinetypethingguy RTD". :P

But yeah, that's not a bad idea.

Attempt to send a message to the Thrasher, telling the engineers just what to do. Like how to repair like I did. Or how to run away.

Attempt to send a message to the Thrasher, telling the engineers just what to do.
Just what to do what? That action extremely vague, and will very likely end up with something entirely different then you expected to happen.

Ed, thanks for the edit.

Else, pilot the ship to the correct destination myself.

When in range, I shoot with my cannons until the shields are down, then fire my missiles when the shileds are down.

We aren't even in range yet for the turrets are we?

(Roadviper)

Invent a target tracking software to boost the targeting capability while waiting for us to get in range of the destroyer.

If all goes well, the Roadviper will be within 3-4 tiles by the time my turn is over.

If all doesn't go well, we'll be 14 tiles away and facing the wrong direction anyway. Upside down.
