Name: doom potato.
Position: engineer.
Skills: repair and shield control.
Gender: female
History:
shield control and repair are not valid skills. Engineering is, and basically covers both of them. I really need to update the starting skills.

Also: "Doom potato"?

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

It's her callsign from when she piloted an ugly, blocky, slow transport into a Xecobia somethingorother, unexpectedly saving the day.

I probably shouldn't be encouraging this.

Just realized. When I replaced nuker w with Hailfire I forgot to update the first page.

Oops. :P

Fixed.

Also: Ochita and Dervin, is the engineer position too boring for you? Because I feel it might be too boring. If you want, I'll try to make it less boring.

I wouldn't mind that being the callsign for his character, but IMO she still needs a proper name.

I imagine they will be busy with this more complex system putting the shields back up. repairing sections, and fixing broken stuff. Also, they could so things like buffs for things like shields, energy systems, and piloting

NOTE: Rule change: "You can only attack center devices if you've broken through an armor section and can see the device. You will also do internal damage."
and
"DviD=Device Damage. As the device damage increases the more unstable the device gets. if the DviD points go past the limit, then the device is out of business."

This seem good?

Engineer's abilites:
Isolate weapon X's ammo belt.
Shut down weapon X.
Shut down engine X.
Shut down FTL drive.
Shut down Shield generator.
Shut down Reactor.
Improve X.
Un-isolate weapon X's ammo belt.
Start up weapon X.
Start up engine X.
Start up FTL drive.
Start up Shield generator.
Start up Reactor.
Eject missile(s).
Attempt to repair X (weapons and engines not allowed).

Device failures, reactor stress, etc:

Spoiler: Ammo belt explosion. (click to show/hide)

And to clarify, gunners can't shut off their weapons. The weapons always fire with the group. Don't ask why, else I'll send a meteorite flying at you at the speed of light. Let's just say to make engineers more important.

(Roadviper)

Feel (or hear, if theres any noise connected with it) the turret being used, then quickly get up and run to the right APIMGT to see what is going on. Then yell at Muller "What the hell are you doing?? You don't fire the gun when docked at a station! Get out of my station, this isn't even your ship!" Kick him out of the right APIMGT and maybe off the ship if neccesary, then explain to the captain why my turret fired at something it wasn't suppoused to have fired at.

Then..... pull up some info from the ships library to get an idea of the known Xecobia ship fighting tactics (you don't need to write up anything about tactics Tarran) and practice on a simulator.

Also do whatever I need to do to get ready to be underway.

My turn is probably a bit more complex than neccesary, but you should be able to boil it down to the neccesary rolls.

Turn 11: Failing about.

[1]: You shout "HEY! GIVE ME A TURN!". Hijack the turret, and fire on a Panther frigate in it's left center armor.

Damage:2+1=3.

You damage the armor by 1/2 a point. The captain of the ship shouts "CEASE FIRE, OR YOU WILL BE FIRED UPON!".

Basic Turret [3/4]

You then look up "how to become a farmer in less then one hour!". It teaches you nothing.

I'm gonna use a flight sim, last time i tried to help the capn, i put us on another collision course
[2]: You sit. Thinking of how awesome it would be for you to be a captain. You learn nothing.

(Captain Silo, Roadviper)

Herd the rest of my crew back onto the ship, explain what was discussed in the Admiral's room, and set course for the target.

If I can't get the crew back or we're not supposed to leave yet, try to learn things about the engines.
[5]: You herd your crew into your ship, and herd the other ship's crew into their ship. You notice that Dervin stole your suit. And kick him in the shins. Then take back your suit. You then go back to your ship and explain the mission. Then do an in-system jump to Haumea.

(Roadviper)
Assist the captain in making ready for departure.

[1]: You bug the captain. To the point he punches you out of anger.

Irony's punch [6]
VS
Frelock's dodge [6]

You catch his punch.

I watch James and David, amused. Then I head on over to my own station and make sure everything's in order. When the captain calls for a meeting, I head on over to hear what he has to say.
[1]: You fumble around. Pulling James from his APIMGT. And onto the floor.

Floor [3]
VS
smjjames's face [6]

James is un-effected. He does seem quite angry though.

Head to the local fashion store to buy aviator glasses before heading back to our new ship.
[2]: You are already in the engine room. You sit like a good engineer.

Try to locate the captain/crew of the ship so we can get underway!
[2]: You hold your hand over your eyes. You can't find anyone.

Ok, make for my station and wait to get underway.
[5]: You make it to your station in record time. Unlike the rest of your crew, you actually succeed without a hitch.

Round up meh crew. Get abord meh new ship. Get into the captain's chair and get aquanted with the systems.

"Alright men, We're going to Centauri, and we are packing some new weapons. So buckle up and get ready.
Dervin, before we get underway, would you mind applying that shield modification again?"

[4]: Irony already rounded up your men for you. Isn't he nice?

"Alright men, We're going to Centauri, and we are packing some new weapons. So buckle up and get ready.
Dervin, before we get underway, would you mind applying that shield modification again?"

(RoadViper)

I shall grab a pistol and then attempt to optimize the power-usage of the ship

[5]: You grab a pistol from the armory. And optimize the ship's power usage.

Level up to Trained Engineering!

Get to the Voidraper. Get to the right gunner's position. Wait for orders.
[3]: You walk to your position and get in.

That is all.

No really.

Nothing else happens.

Um... Attend whatever briefing there may be. Go to station. Have a sandwich.
[6]: You attend the meeting, then realize. YOU MUST HAVE A SANDWICH! You bang on the closed doors to the station, saying: "OPEN UP!!! I MUST HAVE A SANDWICH!!!"

The rest of your crew eyes you strangely.

Anthony: Ahh. Good to see you... Wait, where's your friends?

Spoiler: Roadviper (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Ochita: Engineer. (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Voidraper (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Dervin: Engineer. (click to show/hide)

Wow. Very little got done this turn.

Practice evasive maneuvers.
