Admiral Drake: Well, let me first tell you this is a Class II top secret mission. So DO NOT discuss this outside of your crews. If you do, you will be court martialed. Am I clear? Good.
Admiral Drake: Alright. Now why this is top secret: We are testing new weaponry, weaponry that has the potential to change the war. If it ever got out to the public, the Xecobia could pick it up and develop counters. If this stays secret, and the weapon works, we will be able to launch a massive counterattack and devastate their fleet.
Admiral Drake: Meet major Anthony, captain of the USDF Panther class frigate Thrasher.

Major Anthony: Greetings. As you already know, this is a weapon testing mission. A secret one. This mission originally was given a class IV Security Clearance. But quickly moved down to class II as we needed low ranking officers to attend to keep this low profiled.
Major Anthony: We are going on a low profile to the edge of Alpha Centauri. Yes, we are going into the heart of the conflict. We hope to draw a cruiser, at max. The reason for picking Alpha Centauri is because there is no known HCA activity in Alpha Centauri. Thus the mission can be kept secret.
Major Anthony: We have been interested in testing a hybrid of our AAPMAC and a plasma weapon captured from a boarding mission on a Xecobian frigate. The Plasma Advanced Armor Piercing Magnetically Accelerated Cannon (PAAPMAC). We expect the weapons to deal a large amount of damage compared to either weapon. The PAAPMAC has the potential to change the course of the entire war! We will also be testing some new Nova missiles. Each armed with a small version of a PHAPNMAC warhead.
Admiral Drake: As such, we are going to equip your ships with some of the missiles. Anthony will test the cannons. You will test the missiles. We've already armed both of your ships with four each. They can be fired by the main gunner. Don't be afraid to use them more then needed, we don't intend to use these missiles after the mission.
Major Anthony: There's no room for error, you CANNOT allow ANY ships to escape once you have engaged them with one of the missiles. My ship's jammer will block communication, but it won't stop ships from running away. Remember, the entire fate of this war likely depends on the secrecy of these weapons so we can use them in one massive counterattack.
Major Anthony: This works out, and we'll replace your frontal AAPMACs with our new weapons once we return. Meet me by Haumea.
Admiral Drake: Remember, this stays with your crew and yourselves only. Dismissed.
