If anything, he has a 'Martian' accent. Theres already a Tritonian and a Jovian in the crew, I'm sure they have accents. I only said he is mainly of latin american descent and given that this is in the 25th century, people have developed their own variations of langiages all over.

I was just fleshing the character out a bit because when I did the name, I wanted him to be of hispanic/latin american descent.
