Okay then. Is it possible to shoot down rounds fired by another craft or are you not doing rolls for those?
Depends, can you stop fire with bullets? ???

I see what you're getting at. So those cannons fire plasma 'bullets'. The secondary guns are probably more conventional rounds more akin to modern artillery rounds in terms of size. It could be possible to shoot down missiles however.
Actually, why use expensive cannon rounds for secondary guns when you can use cheap plasma?  ;)

Xecobians don't use missiles, despite their effectiveness.

Considering that the carrier is still shieled, I focus my fire on open fighters... Unless the carrier loses shields, in which case I BLAST THE EVERLOVING HECK out of it's engines. Remember; a destoyed carrier is a victory, a retreated carrier is a loss, and a disabled carrier is a prize. It's better to win than go for a prize at risk of losing the victory.

The carrier only has 2 shield rolls now, right?  Should be fairly easy to punch through them.

Fire, spreading rounds out for maximum damage once the shields are down!

"Cap'n i think you are in error, punish me after if you must but we need to stop that carrier"

Mutilate the carrier's shields (unless they are already down, in which case shoot the engines)

But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Yep, unless they regenerate. You'll have to find the regeneration rate out yourself though.

But if we hit them, the regeneration rate is zero, correct?  So a constant stream of fire each turn will wear down a shield eventually...right?

Yep.

Also: Has everyone forgot about the ship's computers? They are a free action you know, and you can ask once per turn per ship computer.

Use the message from the RoadViper to try and increase the power of the shields.

Sorry about that.

Get as clear a shot for our gunners to the carrier's engines as possible.

I suppose you want your brain back too?

Darn, I was having fun with it.

Turn up soonish-ish-ish. Or, in other words: When I feel like it.

Oh dear, this turn is much more fun then any other turns so far.

Turn 5: FFFFFFFF-...

(The Jolly Smew)
Aim the ship at the final frigate.
"APMIGTs fire at the carrier's jump drives, Wolfchild and Nuker, fire main guns at the other frigate."
"Roadviper, might you focus fire on the Carrier?"

[6]: You aim the Smew at the frigate, and punch the engine! You are on a collision course with the frigate! EVADE!

*Proximity warning**Proximity warning*

"APMIGTs fire at the carrier's jump drives, Wolfchild and Nuker, fire main guns at the other frigate."
"Roadviper, might you focus fire on the Carrier?"

(Road Viper)
Send a message to The Jolly smew telling them on how to increase their shields. Then see if I can optimize anything else on the ship.
[5]: You send step by step instructions on how to do it. Only an idiot can mess up with instructions like those! (+1 to Dervin's roll)

(Roadviper)
Open up on the carrier's engines with all weapons accessible to me.

[2]: You are still contemplating your morals.

Fire on the engines.
[3]: You fire on the shielded engines.

Shield resist roll: Shield:[3][4]=[7]. Damage roll:[AUTOFAIL].

Your bullets bounce off harmlessly.

(Roadviper)
Keep the turrets targeted on the Carriers engines/jump drives, when the carriers shield fails, fire at maximum power.

[2]: The shields are still up. Urgh.

(The Jolly Smew)
Considering that the carrier is still shieled, I focus my fire on open fighters... Unless the carrier loses shields, in which case I BLAST THE EVERLOVING HECK out of it's engines. Remember; a destoyed carrier is a victory, a retreated carrier is a loss, and a disabled carrier is a prize. It's better to win than go for a prize at risk of losing the victory.

[4]: The carrier's shields are still up. So fighters are going to die today!

Damage [5][2]

Score a kill!

Fire, spreading rounds out for maximum damage once the shields are down!
[3]: Shields aren't down. But that ain't stopping you.

Shield resist roll: Shield:[3][4]=[7]. Damage roll:[4][4]=[8].

You overwhelm the shields. They're down!

The Jolly Smew
"Cap'n i think you are in error, punish me after if you must but we need to stop that carrier"
Mutilate the carrier's shields (unless they are already down, in which case shoot the engines)
"Cap'n i think you are in error, punish me after if you must but we need to stop that carrier"

[4]: You fire at the engines.

Damage [5][6]

You cripple the engines. Err, the jump drive looks unstable though. It may be going crittical. And the Smew is not exactly in the best spot.

(The Jolly Smew)

Use the message from the RoadViper to try and increase the power of the shields.
Oh goddamnit guys, I think I powered down the toilets flushing system.
[3+1]: Using the step by step instructions, you improve the shield. Though the reactor is strained now. Ah well, no way it could come back to haunt you... Right? Now, about those toilets...

Oh goddamnit guys, I think I powered down the toilets flushing system.

Waladil: Well, I'm glad I went potty before the battle.

(Captain Silo, Roadviper)
Get as clear a shot for our gunners to the carrier's engines as possible.

[6]: Oh, you get a clear shot alright. You fly right up behi-why is that FTL drive on fire?

Jolly Smew
IM'A FIREIN MAH CANNON, AHAHAHAHAHAHA..... at the carrier

[5]: You fire. Uhhh, that may have been a bad idea in retrospect...

Damage [4][2][3][1+3=4][1+6=7]

FFFFFF-

RoadViper Shield resist roll: Shield:[2][1]=[3]. Damage roll:[1][2][3]=[6].

The shields are blasted away! And there's still one dice left!

Damage [4]

The RoadViper's rockets are gone, the shield generator is damaged, and one front AAPMAC is crippled.

The Jolly Smew Shield resist roll: Shield:[5][4]=[9]. Damage roll:[2][4][1]=[7].

The shields hold, one shield roll is left.

I attempt to cripple the carrier, stopping it from escaping.
[Autofail]: The carrier doesn't seem to need any more encouragement...

[2-1=1]: The frigate doesn't waste a beat, and fires at the Viper! But misses with it's main guns.

[6]: However, the Viper's engines are crippled by the secondary guns.

The number of Xecobian fighters remaining is drastically low.

Several HCA fighters come to the Viper's rescue.

HCA squadren leader: You seem like you need some help.

Spoiler: Roadviper (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: The Jolly Smew (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Dervin: Engineer. (click to show/hide)

So. One ship is severely damaged. The other is in a collision course with the enemy frigate. Joy.
Remember guys, if things are going bad, you can always use the escape pods.
